Maryland State Cup review: Finals are set

The championship matches are set for the 2011 edition of the Maryland State Cup. All the final matches will take place at the Maryland SoccerPlex on May 21, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Boys

In the Under-18 division, the Bethesda Internationals bested SAC Premier 2-1, and the MD Rush Nike beat Baltimore Bays Blues 2-0.

MD Rush Nike’s U-17 squad beat Bethesda Real 2-1, and SAC United Premier came out on top over Stoddert Blue Lightening in a close 1-0 win.

The Pachucha Green Dragons stomped Freestate Red Devils 4-1, and the Baltimore Bays Blues won 1-0 over the Bethesda AC Bethesda in the U-16 division.

U-15 action saw the Crofton Blast losing 1-0 to the Bethesda Revolution, and the Olney Rangers sneaking by the Baltimore Bays Chelsea with a 1-0 win.

SAC United Premier knocked the Freestate Diplomats out of the final with a 1-0 win, and the MSC Magic Green dominated Bethesda Blue with a 5-0 victory in the U-14 division.

Calverton Barza Campeones won a 3-2 against the MSC Diplomats, and the Bethesda Lions moved to the final with a 5-1 over Baltimore SC Premier to set up the U-13 final.

Girls

Freestate United beat Laurel Premier United 2-0 to move on to the U-18 championship, and the Bethesda Dragons shut out the Crofton Wolves in a 4-0 romp.

The Freestate Fury snuck by the MD Rush Nike with a 1-0 victory, and the Baltimore Bays clinched their spot in the final with a 3-1 win over the Bethesda Force in the U-17 division.

Bethesda Freedom beat FC Frederick 1-0 in the U-16 semifinal, and they will face the Freestate Elite, who beat the Freestate Wolverines 2-0.
