Mass Premier Soccer, Maryland Bays advance to Region I Open final

Mass Premier Soccer and the Maryland Bays have advanced to the Region I Werner Fricker US Open Cup finals.
Mass Premier Soccer and Lansdowne Bhoys (ENY) went the distance with their match ending 1:1 in regulation and no one scoring in extra time. The visitors from Massachusetts pushed through on penalty rounds 4:3.
The Maryland Bays handled their southern rivals, Dulles Sportsplex Aegean Hawks FC (MDCVA), scoring a pair of goals in each half on their way to a 4:0 victory. Jon Ports set the tone with a first half brace. Chris Weaver and Chris Ports finished matters in the second half.
Mass Premier will return to their second consecutive Open final while the Bays are looking to achieve a regional cup double.
The Region I Finals are about a month away, 15 June at the Ukrainian American Sport Center in Horsham, Pennsylvania. The winners will head out Salt Lake, Utah in July to represent the region in the US Adult Soccer National Cup Finals.
