Massachusetts powerhouse club South Shore Select joining ECNL Girls
RICHMOND, Va. – The ECNL Girls announced that South Shore Select will be joining the league for the 2024-25 season.
Located in Hingham, Massachusetts, South Shore Select has been a part of the Massachusetts soccer landscape for 25 years with a history of developing elite level talent since the club’s founding in 1996.
Since 2017, South Shore Select has captured championships in the US Club Soccer National Premier League, US Club Soccer National Cup, and Girls Academy, most recently winning the GA U19 Champions Cup this week and the 2023 Girls Academy National Championship at the G09 age group.

“We are excited about joining the ECNL,” said Liz Lima, South Shore Select Owner and President. “Our club’s mission has always been to not only foster exceptional talent but also to instill a deep sense of community and social responsibility in our players. Joining the ECNL aligns perfectly with our goals, providing our players with unparalleled opportunities to compete at the highest levels, while also maintaining their love and passion for the game. We are excited for the journey ahead and eagerly anticipate the contributions our club will make on and off the field.”
Under Lima’s direction, the club has grown to now include over 900 female players. Ally Sentnor is the club’s most prominent alum, who was the first pick of the 2024 NWSL Draft by the Utah Royals. Sam Smith, who just recently signed with Icelandic club FHL, and Lilly Reale, who last season became the first player to win back to back Pac 12 Defensive Player of the Year awards are additional notable alumni. South Shore Select also currently has three players who play for Ireland Youth National Teams.
“Joining the ECNL is an exciting moment for our club,” expressed Steve McAuliffe, Executive Director for South Shore Select. “Since its inception, the ECNL has been at the forefront of elevating the youth soccer experience, mirroring our own commitment to not only developing exceptional soccer talents but also fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. We are eager to contribute to and benefit from the league’s dynamic and holistic approach to soccer, which has consistently proven to produce remarkable outcomes in both the girls’ and boys’ programs. We’re excited to partner with the ECNL to further enrich the soccer landscape and create a lasting impact on our players and the broader soccer community.”
