Miami Hurricanes bring in eight incoming freshmen from the Class of 2024
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team will take the pitch in a few weeks for their first regular season match of the 2024 season.
The roster features numerous new faces as the Hurricanes welcomed 17 newcomers, including eight freshmen to the program this offseason.

Three of the eight freshmen hail from the state of Florida, while the other five are spread across the nation from Maine all the way to California.
CIARA ALARCON
Midfielder // 5-7 // Freshman // West Palm Beach, Fla. // American Heritage
Alarcon joins the Hurricanes after earning five varsity letters at American Heritage, guiding the Stallions to the state final four every season.
The West Palm Beach, Fla., native garnered All-County honors four times across her illustrious prep career. Alarcon totaled 24 goals and 44 assists, highlighted by a 27-point senior campaign. She played club soccer in the ECNL for FC Prime.
GIOVANA CANALI
Forward // 5-7 // Freshman // Boca Raton, Fla. // West Boca
A native of Boca Raton, Fla., Canali has already made a name for herself as a budding star entering the collegiate ranks.
At West Boca, the 5-foot-7 forward recorded 52 goals and 11 assists over 31 matches, collecting All-County recognition all four years. On the international stage, Canali has received multiple call-ups to the U20 Brazilian National Team, most recently winning a gold medal in the South American Cup this past May. She played club soccer in the ECNL for FC Prime.
SAGE CAREY
Forward // 5-4 // Freshman // Pembroke Pines, Fla. // Pembroke Pines Charter
A Miami legacy, Carey comes to The U following a standout interscholastic career at Pembroke Pines Charter.
After overcoming an ACL injury, the 5-foot-4 forward scored nine goals and seven assists. A South Florida native, Carey’s late father, Marcus, won two national championships as a member of the Hurricanes football team in 1989 and 1991. She plays club soccer in the Girls Academy for Florida United.
LANA DJURANOVIC
Forward/Midfielder // 5-6 // Freshman // Scarborough, Maine // Scarborough
Djuranovic arrives at Miami after tearing up the Northeast soccer circuit. The two-time Maine Gatorade Player of the Year led Scarborough to back-to-back Class A state titles in 2022 and 2023.
A three-time All-State selection, Djuranovic finished her career with a program-record 78 goals and 23 assists, capped off by a 32-goal senior season. She plays club soccer in the Girls Academy for Seacoast United.
FAITH GRAZIANO
Midfielder // 5-5 // Freshman // Middlebury, Conn. // Taft School
A native of Middlebury, Conn., Graziano starred as a four-sport athlete at the Taft School.
The 2023 High School All-American recorded 41 goals and 37 assists throughout her prep career, earning a trio of All-Founders League selections and a pair of All-State distinctions. On the court, Graziano set the single-season scoring record for the Big Red basketball team. She plays club soccer in the ECNL for Connecticut FC.
JESSICA KAYE
Forward // 5-4 // Freshman // Ridgewood, N.J. // Ridgewood
Kaye joins the Hurricanes following three standout seasons at Ridgewood High School. The 5-foot-4 forward guided the Maroons to two county championships and three league titles, as well as a trio of appearances in the state finals.
The two-time All-State honoree registered 77 points — 28 goals and 21 assists — to help Ridgewood to a 57-6-2 overall record since 2021. She plays club soccer in the ECNL for World Class FC.
GRAY WILLSON
Goalkeeper // 5-10 // Freshman // Rocklin, Calif. // Del Oro
A native of Rocklin, Calif., Willson took care of business on and off the pitch during her time at Del Oro. Willson was a stalwart in goal for the Golden Eagles, tallying 73 shutouts in 77 career contests.
The four-sport athlete was named to the All-League First Team twice and garnered All-West Region distinction, as well as an All-American nomination after her senior campaign. She plays club soccer in the ECNL for San Juan SC.
JORDYN WOMACK
Forward // 5-7 // Freshman // Las Vegas, Nev. // Bishop Gorman
A 5-foot-7 forward, Womack shined for powerhouse Bishop Gorman, despite only playing her junior year due to injury.
The Las Vegas native scored six goals and notched three assists in just 13 matches, while also earning an honors diploma in the classroom. She plays club soccer in the ECNL for Heat FC.
