Michigan men’s soccer team signs four transfers as Wolverines reload for 2024

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan men’s soccer head coach Chaka Daley announced the addition of four transfers – Grayson Elmquist, Pierre Lurot, Rocky Perez and Beto Soto – to the 2024 roster.

Grayson Elmquist | F | 6-1 | Lake City, Mich. (Xavier) | Indy Eleven Pro Academy

• Played one season at Xavier
• Appeared in 17 matches with eight starts
• Logged 878 minutes in his freshman season
• Scored two goals, one each in back-to-back games
• Helped the Musketeers to 2023 Big East championship
• Played club soccer for Indy Eleven Pro Academy
• Two-time USL Academy Cup National Champion
• Golden Ball and Golden Boot award winner in 2022-23

Pierre Lurot | D | 6-3 | Bourges, France (University of Indianapolis)

• Played two seasons at UIndy and two seasons at Southwest Baptist
• Played and started in 32 games at UIndy and 29 matches at Southwest Baptist
• Tallied two goals and three assists for seven points
• Logged more than 5,000 minutes in his combined four seasons
• 2022 GLVC Co-Defensive Player of the Year
• 2022 First Team All-GLVC
• 2022 D2CCA First Team All-Midwest Region

Rocky Perez | M | 5-11 | San Antonio, Texas (South Carolina) | San Antonio FC

• Played in 34 games with 24 starts at midfield in two seasons at South Carolina
• Started all 17 games his freshman year, one of two players to start every match in 2022
• Scored one goal and dished out two assists
• Logged 2,213 minutes in two seasons with the Gamecocks
• Played professional soccer for the USL’s San Antonio FC while in high school
• Part of San Antonio FC academy for six years
• Selected to US Youth National Team player pool

Beto Soto | F | 5-7 | Houston, Texas (Marquette) | Houston Dynamo Academy

• Appeared in 63 games, including 55 starts, in four seasons at Marquette
• Scored 14 goals and notched nine assists for a total of 37 points
• Named Big East Freshman of the Year, Third Team All-Big East and to the Big East All-Tournament team in 2021
• Garnered Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News All-Freshmen teams in 2021
• Logged 4,422 minutes at forward for the Golden Eagles
• Played club soccer for Houston Dynamo Academy
