Montreal Impact Academy U-13 team to visit France
MONTREAL (Via Montreal Impact) – A second team from the Montreal Impact Academy announced on Tuesday its participation in an international tournament in France. The U13 Impact team will enter the 30th edition of the Tournoi International U13 Anastasio Gomez de Bobigny, in France, from March 26 to 28.
Similar to the international tournament in which the Impact U14 team will take part in May, this tournament will involve clubs from France and abroad. 16 teams will participate, and the games will be played in an 8 vs 8 format.
French club Paris Saint-Germain, winners of the 2015 edition, will be back this year. The participants also include prestigious clubs such as FC Porto (Primeira Liga) and Tottenham Hotspur FC (English Premier League).
“This is a unique opportunity to face other European professional clubs,” said U13 head coach Serge Dinkota. “We will be able to evaluate how the kids adapt to traveling, as well as their autonomy and their preparation. It’s also a good experience to prepare them for the USSDA, starting at the U16 level.”
