NCSL cranking back into gear across Washington, D.C. region

The National Capital Soccer League schedule resumed last weekend, with teams jockeying for early-season positioning in the standings.

Most teams are in their first or second weekend of NCSL play.

Here’s a recap of Division 1 action across the age groups:

Under-19

MPS Celtic Green took a 5-0 win over Team America FC and Herndon Revolution won 2-1 over Calverton Spartans FC for each team’s first wins of the season.

U-17

ABGC United Force (2-0-0) picked up two wins over the weekend, defeating Bethesda U17 Green 2-0 on Saturday and scoring an 8-1 win over Team America 94 Red on Sunday.

U-16

MPS 95 Titans Green (1-1-0) won its first match of the season, 3-2 over BAC Real Blue. Crofton Blast (1-0-0), which didn’t play this weekend, is the lone team without a loss or tie among those having begun their spring schedules. Rush Nike 95 and SMU United have yet to play a game.

U-15

Northern Virginia SC Jr. Royals and Team America 96 are both 2-0-0 after wins Sunday. NVSC defeated ASA Milan Black Hawks 3-0, while Team America beat MPS 96 Fire Green 3-1.

U-14

The Chantilly Strikers won and tied over the weekend, defeating SAC United Premier 4-0 and tying Sterling FC Orange Power 97 2-2.

U-13

ASA Real moved to 2-0-0 with a 5-0 win over MPS 98 Celtic Green. NVSC Jr. Royals 98 Blue and POT Red kept pace at the top of the table. The Royals took a 2-0 win over Bethesda Green, while POT Red held off SYC Strikers Blue 2-1.

U-11/U-12

Three teams are tied at 2-0-0 at the top of the U-12 Division 1 standings – CYA Cesena 99, Bethesda Blue 99 and MPS 99 Fire Green. Three 2-0-0 teams also share the U-11 Division 1 standings–WWSC Red Wolves, Bethesda Blue and Takoma Azzurri.
