NEFC set to join USL Academy League for 2024 season
MENDON, Mass. – The USL Academy has announced the addition of New England FC to the USL Academy League competition for the upcoming 2024 season.
Established in 2009, New England FC (NEFC) swiftly emerged as a premier destination for aspiring soccer players across New England. With a roster of over 200 teams and more than 4000 players, NEFC offers unparalleled development opportunities. Boasting a professional coaching cadre and state-of-the-art facilities, NEFC cultivates a dynamic environment for aspiring athletes. Over the past 15 years, NEFC has clinched an impressive array of accolades, securing 10 National Championships in esteemed tournaments such as the US Club Soccer NPL, US Club Soccer National Cup, Girls Academy, and US Youth Soccer events, showcasing remarkable success on both the boys’ and girls’ sides.
“NEFC is excited to announce the launch of our USL Academy program for the summer,” said Christian F. Battaglia, NEFC Director of Coaching. “We are excited to offer this opportunity to our current membership as we take the initial steps to having a pre-professional USL League Two program in 2025. With our commitment to player development, adding the USL Academy structure allows NEFC the opportunity to continue teaching and developing our players through the summer months.”
“We are excited to add NEFC to the USL Academy League and provide the wide scope of players at the club with a foundation to continue their development in a pre-professional environment,” said Jason Collister, USL Director of Men’s Pre-Professional Pathway. “NEFC grows the USL Academy’s footprint in a region that is rich with talent, and we are excited to see how the USL pathway can positively impact the growth of these players on and off the field.”
“This is a continuation of our commitment and mission of creating an elite developmental environment throughout all NEFC programs,” added Battaglia. “NEFC is excited to further add to our development pathway while promoting from within and aiding players in their pursuit in their college of choice and beyond.”
