“It feels amazing, I am very grateful for it,” said Charlton Alonso, the Allstate “Good Hands®” top goalkeeper – El Portero Allstate. “This means everything to me. It shows me that if I keep putting in the work, I’ll be getting results like this. Now I’ll continue to be aggressive, continue talking and continue to be a leader on the field, which I think that set me apart from the other goalkeepers.”

The Allstate “Good Hands” top goalkeeper – El Portero Allstate winner was chosen from the three goalkeeper finalists who were in Southern California earlier in the month for four days of competition and mentoring by top soccer goalkeeping legend Adolfo Rios.

“Alonso possess great speed, strength and his reaction to the ball was outstanding. We also took his age into consideration, we think when he is in a formal team setting he will develop a higher skill level. He will have a great future in the MLS Academy,” said Rios.

Celebrating its historic 10th year, Sueño MLS was staged by three Major League Soccer teams, including first-time host Portland Timbers, as well as returning hosts LA Galaxy and the New York Red Bulls. Up to 400 tryout spots were made available in each city.
