New U.S. U-18 Men’s coach Javier Perez calls in 35 players for training camp

The U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team has convened for a domestic training camp from March 25-April 1 in Carson, Calif.

Head coach Javier Perez has named 35 players to the roster for his first camp at the helm of this team. All but three players have U.S. Soccer Development Academy ties. Real Salt Lake Arizona, Baltimore Bays Chelsea, CD Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union each contributed two players to the squad.

Five players are currently plying their trade outside of the U.S., with Ethan Horvath and Kristian Scott both members of Stoke City in England. Matt Dunn and Mobi Fehr play in Europe, while Esteban Rodriguez is part of the squad at Club Tijuana in Mexico.

Callups Fehr, Dunn, Alejandro Guido, Paul Arriola, Esteban Rodriguez and Dillon Serna are veterans of the United States’ 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup squad.

Each player is age eligible for the 2012 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, with nine players born in 1994 and the rest born in 1995.
