CHARLESTON, S.C. (Via US Club Soccer) – The New York Club Soccer League (NYCSL) NPL Girls Division is welcoming significant expansion in the 2018-19 season. These clubs will join the league for girls NPL competition next season: FCUSA, Force FC, New York Surf and PSA Wildcats.

NYCSL is a veteran of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) landscape, and the NPL Division represents NYCSL’s top tier.

Beginning next season, here are the member clubs in the NYCSL NPL Girls Division:

  • Brentwood SC (N.Y.)
  • FCUSA (N.J.)
  • Force FC (N.Y.)
  • Manhattan SC (N.Y.)
  • New York Surf (N.Y.)
  • NJ Crush (N.J.)
  • NJ Stallions (N.J.)
  • NYSC (N.Y.)
  • PSA Wildcats (N.J.)
  • Quickstrike FC (N.Y.)
  • STA (N.J.)
  • SUSA (N.Y.)

The new clubs from New Jersey are existing NPL members that are being restructured to the NYCSL, while Force FC and New York Surf are new to the NPL through expansion.

“This restructuring and adding of new clubs to the NYCSL NPL Division brings clarity to the region,” said Leo Garcia, US Club Soccer Vice President of Competitions and NPL General Manager. “The new clubs are a great addition to an already strong league member of the NPL.”

Year-end league winners advance to the annual Girls NPL Finals, where they’ll compete against other top clubs from NPLs around the country for NPL championships. The NYCSL NPL Girls Division is a perennial favorite at the NPL Finals. In each of the past three NPL Finals, the NYCSL NPL Girls Division has had a member team claim an NPL title.

“We’re delighted to announce this significant strengthening of the NYCSL Girls NPL,” said John Curtis, NYCSL Technical Director. “I’m very confident the new league structure will drive up quality, reduce travel and provide all members with an enhanced league experience.”
