Ohio State women’s soccer goes unbeaten in spring season
COLUMBUS, Ohio (Via Ohio State University) – The Ohio State women’s soccer team recently completed its spring schedule unbeaten, notching a 3-0-1 record in the four contests. The Buckeyes outscored their opponents 9-3 in the four games, picking up a 1-0 win over Ohio Feb. 23, tied Kent State 1-1 March 3 before topping Bowling Green 4-1 March 8 and wrapping up the schedule with a 3-1 victory over Grand Valley State March 30.
Blair Cowan scored the lone goal in the win over the Bobcats while Kayla Fischer scored the Buckeyes’ goal in the draw against Kent State. Izzy Rodriguez scored twice along with tallies from Fischer and Haley Walker-Robinson against Bowling Green while Fischer, Cowan and Olivia Petit each scored against Grand Valley State.
Fischer paced the Buckeyes with three goals in the four-game spring slate while Rodriguez scored two. The pair each led Ohio State with four goals in 2018.
