Oklahoma State players sweep Big 12 Conference weekly awards

IRVING, Texas – Oklahoma State swept the first Big 12 Conference weekly awards of the spring following its 3-0 victory over Little Rock.

Olyvia Dowell was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, while Kim Rodriguez earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Emily Plotz captured Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honors, and Alex Morris rounded out the list as the Big 12 Freshman of the Week.

Dowell played a part in all three goals against the Trojans. She recorded an assist on the first score as her corner kick led to a goal by Grace Yochum, and the sophomore then tallied OSU’s final two goals to bring her team-leading season total to six.

Rodriguez moved into the top 10 on OSU’s all-time assists list as she was credited with assists on the Cowgirls’ first two goals, bringing her career total to 19. That total ranks ninth in program history. The senior also anchored the OSU defense during her 80 minutes of action.

In 65 minutes in goal, Plotz posted three saves to help OSU notch its fifth shutout of the season.

Morris made just her third appearance in a collegiate game, and her second-career start, and helped contribute to the shutout in her 50 minutes of action.
