Oklahoma State signs seven from Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas and Canada
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has signed seven student-athletes to its incoming class for the 2025 season.
The class includes high school standouts from Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Kansas as well as a pair of Canadians. Three players – Sandrine Brault, Emmy Hedden and Sophie Wilson – will join the program in January, while the others will come in August.
“We are thrilled with our class of 2025. We have added some amazing student-athletes to our team who are very talented players and wonderful people who will enhance our squad,” said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael. “We were able to fill our positional needs with this group, and I cannot wait to welcome them to Neal Patterson Stadium. This group has the ability to continue on the tradition of excellence that has been set for Cowgirl Soccer.”
Madi Asel, F, Frisco, Texas (Lebanon Trail HS/FC Dallas ECNL)
- Stars at the club level for FC Dallas
- Recorded 21 goals and nine assists during the 2023-24 season
- Helped lead FC Dallas to two Texas League championships, two regional league championships and the Elite 8 of the U18 playoffs
- Has tallied 21 goals and eight assists in career at Lebanon Trail High School
- A three-time all-district performer and the district co-offensive player of the year as a junior at LTHS

Carmichael on Asel: “Madi is a forward who is very quick and loves to run directly at defenders. Her pace makes her a threat to run in behind defenses, and she is a constant goal threat. She is also good at setting up opportunities for teammates with service from wide areas.”

- Helped lead Blainville Soccer Club to the league one Canadian championship in 2022

Carmichael on Brault: “Sandrine has gained great experience with the Canadian Youth National Team. She is a very athletic player who can play anywhere on the flank. She loves to attack at speed with the ball and put defenders under pressure, and she is an aggressive player who can both attack and defend at a very high level.”
Sonora DeFini, F, Omaha, Neb. (Gretna HS/Gretna Elite Academy ECNL)
- Named to the ECNL U17 All-Midwest Conference First Team starring for Gretna Elite Academy
- An All-Midwest Conference Second Team performer at the U16 and U15 levels
- Was part of Gretna Elite’s Nebraska State Cup champion team in 2021 and starred on team that qualified for the North American Cup in 2022-23 and the Champions League in 2023-24
- A participant in ODP and the 2022 ECNL National Selection Program
- Named the 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year in Nebraska after a record-setting junior season at Gretna High School
- Set the state single-season record with 55 goals and also had 11 assists
- Led Gretna to Class B state championship in program’s first year as it finished with a 21-1 record
- Had nine of teams 20 goals and recorded 11 assists in state tournament
- Helped lead GHS to Class A state titles as a freshman and sophomore
- No. 112 on the IMG Academy Top 200 for 2024

Carmichael on DeFini: “Sonora is a forward who has a very strong physical presence. She is a true number nine who comes alive around the 18-year box. She is very aggressive and can finish off crosses and balls played in and around the goal area, and she is also able to hold the ball up top and help bring other players into the attack.”

Carmichael on Fieker: “Landry is one of the best players to come out of Oklahoma in this class, and she can play as a center back or defensive center midfielder. She is very physical and has a great presence on the field. She is very good in the air and is a threat to score from set plays, and her distribution coming out of the back will fit with how we want to play as a team.”

Carmichael on Hedden: “Emmy is a creative attacking player who can play in the midfield and up front. She is a good dribbler who can beat people one v. one, and she is also very good at combining and setting up opportunities for her teammates.”

- Member of the Canadian youth national team program
- Helped lead CF Montreal Academy to League 1 Quebec regular season championship and the Quebec Cup title in 2023

Carmichael on Perreault: “Juliette is a central midfield player who has gained a ton of international experience while representing Canada at the youth national team level.
