STILLWATER, Okla. (Via Oklahoma State University) – Eleven home games highlight Oklahoma State’s 2019 soccer schedule, which was announced today by Cowgirl head coach Colin Carmichael.

The ’19 schedule includes eight NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago, with OSU hosting three of those opponents at Neal Patterson Stadium. Four of the Cowgirls’ nine Big 12 Conference games will also be at home.

“We’re very excited for the 2019 season, and we have put together a very challenging and exciting schedule,” said Carmichael. “There are some very tough non-conference matches on there, and the Big 12 has proven to be one of the most competitive leagues from top-to-bottom in the country.

“Last year, our fan support in our new home was terrific, and we look forward to seeing the stadium packed again for these great matchups.”

OSU is coming off a 2018 season that saw the Cowgirls finish 10-7-1 overall, and 10  starters return from that squad, led by All-Big 12 defender Kim Rodriguez and a senior class that includes Jaci Jones, Julia Lenhardt, Claire Gantzer, Elise Hawn and Kirsten Siragusa.

The Cowgirls open 2019 with a preseason exhibition match at home against Tulsa on Aug. 16 before kicking off the regular season the following week at Lamar on Aug. 22 in Beaumont, Texas.

On Aug. 30, OSU faces a non-conference match against Bedlam-rival Oklahoma in Norman before its home opener against Oral Roberts on Sept. 1.

Other non-conference highlights include a showdown at Penn State (Sept. 12) and home matches with Saint Louis (Sept. 8) and SMU (Sept. 22)

OSU opens Big 12 play on the road at Texas Tech on Sept 26 before traveling to TCU for a Sept. 29 matchup against the Horned Frogs; the Cowgirls also have conference road matches at Texas, West Virginia and Iowa State.

The Cowgirls’ first Big 12 home match is set for Oct. 3 against Kansas, and OSU will also host Kansas State, Oklahoma and Baylor in conference play.

Postseason play begins Nov. 3 with the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Soccer Championship in Kansas City, Mo.; the tourney semifinals are set for Nov. 8 and the final on Nov. 10. The start of the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship is scheduled for Nov. 15-17 with the College Cup Dec. 6-8 in San Jose, Calif.
