As one of 13 Conferences within the USYS National League, the Northwest Conference serves top-level boys and girls teams — with Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana represented during the 2020-21 season. Participating teams have an opportunity to compete for qualification into the 2021 USYS Far West Regional Championships, as well as qualification into the 2021-22 USYS National League Playoffs.
“The Northwest Conference is excited to have these teams and clubs set to participate this season in what will be a very competitive competition,” said Paul Bayly, the Northwest Conference league manager. “This area of the country is filled with people who are very passionate for soccer, with proven success on the field that has seen many players go on to play in ODP, in college, professionally, and with U.S. Senior and Youth National Teams. The collection of teams we have in the Northwest Conference ensures that the league will have the quality of play to push forward the area’s enthusiasm and rich history in the game.”
The Northwest Conference uses an event-based schedule, with the 15U-19U age groups playing primarily in December and January while the younger age groups play in March.
The Northwest Conference, along with each of the 13 National League Conferences, provides its teams with consistent high-level competition at a targeted local level. Conference teams have access to the USYS National League Showcase Series, as well as a chance to compete for spots in the USYS National League Playoffs.
