Parity featured in top divisions at CASL Boys Showcase
Only one team finished with a perfect record in a top division at the CASL Boys Showcase this weekend in Wilson, N.C. in an evenly-matched competition across the U15-U19 age groups. The event was played alongside the opening weekend of the US Youth Soccer Boys National League, creating a unique showcase atmosphere for attending college coaches.

U15 Elite Red
Lake Norman SC 99 Force won all three matches at CASL, the only team in any top division to run the table. The North Carolina side beat Georgia State Cup finalist Savannah SA 99 Storm 4-1 to open the event on Friday. On Saturday, LNSC blanked Ohio State Cup finalist and Region II semifinalist Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) 99/00 Gold 2-0, before toughing out a 2-1 contest against Kings Hammer SC 99 Red on Sunday to finish atop the division.
TJ Suber and Cole Schmidt anchored the LNSC strong back line, while AJ Whisenhat scored five goals in three games to lead the attack. Ian Faulkner was a rock in the midfield for LNSC throughout the weekend, possessing and distributing the ball on offense and enforcing himself defensively. Daniel Steedman played a creative role in the midfield providing four assists and scoring a goal.
U16 Elite Red
Metro FC U16 Rapids went 2-0-1 to finish with a division-best seven points in a highly competitive U16 top flight. Metro, hailing from Ohio South, posted a lopsided 5-0 win over an undermanned Arlington Attack Red roster on Friday, then followed up with a 2-2 draw against South Carolina State Cup champion CESA 98 Premier on Saturday and a 1-0 shutout of Florida powerhouse Team Boca 98/99 White on Sunday to clinch the top spot.
U17 Elite Red
Georgia State Cup finalist UFA-Norcross 98 Fury Premier went 2-0-1 in the top U17 flight, leading the way with seven points on the weekend. UFA-Norcross opened the event on Friday with a 3-3 draw against Kentucky State Cup finalist Javanon 98 Black, then went on to beat Eastern Pennsylvania powerhouse Philadelphia SC Coppa 3-1 on Saturday and Michigan’s Force FC 97/98 Black 4-1 on Sunday.
U19 Elite Red
North Carolina State Cup champion Triangle Futbol Alliance 96 went without a loss in a stacked U19 Elite Red division, beginning with an exciting 3-2 win over Ohio Galaxies FC 96 Elite on Friday afternoon. TFCA drew Wisconsin State Cup champs Elm Grove Blues 1-1 on Saturday, and finished the event on a high note Sunday with a 2-0 shutout of Pennsylvania state finalist PSC Coppa. Center back Cooper Duplantis anchored the TFCA back line in the team’s blanking of Coppa to cap off a standout performance throughout the tournament. Clayton “CJay” Sparks had three goals on the weekend to lead the TFCA offense and Daniel Avila was a consistent playmaker in the midfield on both sides of the ball.
