Players to Watch: ECNL Girls Phoenix National Event (Spring 2025)

The ECNL Girls Phoenix National Event is coming up April 4-6 as some of the nation’s best teams from will go head-to-head in the desert.

ECNL Phoenix will feature 314 total teams across the U12-U17 age groups. (COLLEGE COACHES)

Ahead of ECNL Phoenix, here are some players to know for the tournament. Players are listed according to their graduation year.

2030

Sicily is a powerhouse on the attacking side for Mustang SC 2012 with precise ball skills and strength in both feet to score from anywhere. She plays attacking midfielder, winger and can line up at striker as well. She’s a US Club Soccer PDP player for the 2012 and 2011 teams in the Bay Area.

Sydney Roddick

Defender
CA

Roddick is emerging as one of the stronger outside defenders from the Class of 2029 in the talent-rich So Cal area. She has an impressive combination of strength, speed and aggressive defending that can be a big problem for even some the most elite forwards in the country. Her technical skills extend beyond defense, allowing her to seamlessly transition into attack and provide critical support when pressing up the field.

Tenlee Weigt | Midfielder
Boise Thorns 2011 (ID) 

Tenlee has scored 3 goals and racked up 3 assists so far this season in ECNL competition. She’s among the most technical and explosive attacking players in her conference. She has made the US Youth Soccer ODP Interregional team 2 years in a row, and will be a player to keep an eye on coming out of Idaho in the years to come.

Emma Esterbrook | Goalkeeper
Pateadores SC 2011 (CA)

Esterbrook will be attending her second ECNL Phoenix showcase this Spring, having become a three-time attendee at U.S. U-14 Women’s National Team ID camps. Always a major presence on the field, she’s highly competent using both her left and right foot, making her an excellent passer out of the back. She excels at reading play, directing her back line and coming up with big diving saves when called upon. She has kept four clean sheets in 2024-25 and has an impressive postseason pedigree in the ECNL.

Taylor Hansen | Forward
Phoenix Rising FC 2011 (AZ)

Hansen, a forward and key goal scorer, netted two of her team’s four goals at the Far West Region ODP Championship, earning a spot at InterRegionals and the 2025 ODP National Team. She remains a consistent offensive threat with four goals in her last three ECNL league games.

Mahealani Calibraro | Defender
Las Vegas Heat Surf 2010 (NV)

A US Club Soccer id2 regional selection from Hawaii, Calibraro is a 2011-born defender who plays up a year with the 2010 squad. She can play across the back line at any position, as well as the #6 spot. She captained her 2011 Hawaii Rush team to a championship at the Las Vegas Showcase top bracket two weeks ago.

Jayla Swindle

Midfielder

Jayla recently transitioned to the Bay Area Surf side, as she’s coming off a freshman high school season where she led the Sierra Delta League with 46 goals and 14 assists and won Offensive MVP for the league. Jayla was also named to the ODP National Team recently and earned a trip to play in Costa Rica. Jayla will look to use her sharp technical skills to unlock opposing defenses with precise passes and create scoring opportunities for her Bay Area Surf 2010 team.

Vivian Baker

An extremely talented goalkeeper for MVLA SC 2010, Baker has a breadth of experience in U.S. Soccer’s Talent ID Program, receiving 5 call-ups to Talent ID Centers and National Team ID Camps. Baker is widely regarded as a high-level prospect from the Class of 2028, as she’s currently making her mark with a new club, MVLA, after a successful run with De Anza Force.

Chloe Miller

This U.S. Women’s Youth National Team roster pool member plays up with the MVLA 2009 ECNL squad, where she stars at center back against older opponents. Miller’s combination of technical and physical skills make her nearly impossible to beat in 1v1 situations. She’s an ECNL All-American with sky-high potential, not only at the college level but potentially beyond that as well.

A standout goalkeeper for Slammers FC 2010 ECNL, Derby is a two-time U.S. Soccer Talent ID Center invitee, who also has experience in the highly-competitive US Youth Soccer Cal South ODP roster pool and in the US Club Soccer PDP system. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Lily Limpert

Midfielder
MO

Lily is a midfielder with a defensive mindset who can attack when needed. She plays well in the #6 and #8 roles, but can also play the #10. She’s aggressive and is always willing to put her body on the line for the team, winning headers and 50-50 balls with regularity.

Sasha Thomas

Defender
WA

Thomas is a versatile player for Crossfire Premier 2009, anchoring the back line. She plays strongest at center back, and can play out wide as needed. Thomas is a proactive defender who pride herself on shutting down opposing runs before they can get deep into the final third. She’s a highly-technical player with the ability to control the ball in tight spaces and make dangerous passes to relieve the pressure on the back line.

Arya Pfeiffer | Defender
Slammers HB Koge 2010 (CA)

Coming off a successful high school season as a freshman starter, Arya was First Team All-Conference and First Team All-County for Oaks Christian High School, in the top soccer division in SoCal. Arya is able to open the field with her passing and vision, but can also score off the dribble. She’s a tenacious defender and helps her team contend as one of the top ECNL teams in the 2010 age group each year.

Sammy Cancellare | Forward
Arlington Soccer 2009 (VA)

Sammy led her team to the ECNL Champions League Playoffs with her goal-scoring as well as assists to her teammates throughout the tough Mid-Atlantic regular season. She’s a constant threat on the attack, willing to take any defender 1v1. She recently was the only freshman selected for varsity at the high-powered Yorktown High School, which is poised for a Virginia state playoff run.

Rebels SC 2009 (CA)

Campos made varsity as a freshman at the prestigious Mater Dei High School. This 2028 goalkeeper had multiple high-flying saves to help secure wins at the ECNL’s Battle of the Southwest, where she tallied 25 saves. She’s tough as nails and can take on any offense using her body at will. She’s been invited twice to SoCal’s Player Development Program events.

Avery Halada

Just a few months out from entering her active college recruiting window, Halada will likely see considerable interest from college coaches. She’s a defender with a high work rate and is known as a strong passer out of the back, often starting runs for the Bay Area Surf offense.

Addison Rudel

The team captain for Slammers HB Koge 2009, Rudel has been on the radar for U.S. Soccer’s Talent ID efforts on the West Coast for multiple years. At 5-foot-9, she’s growing into a prototype frame for a high-level college goalkeeper, and she’s extremely quick on her feet with great athleticism and agility.

Makena Cook

A multi-sport athlete who can absolutely take over games, Makena Cook is a dynamic Player to Watch for the Slammers HB Koge 2009 squad. She’s one of the top female flag football players in the country, and it shows when she’s on the soccer field, as she brings a rare combination of top-end speed, power and strength. Cook was one of the top performers at last year’s ECNL Playoffs, and she’ll look to repeat that success this spring. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Representing Fairfax Virginia Union ECNL 2008, DeLacy is a dynamic midfielder who earned First Team ECNL All-Conference honors in the Mid-Atlantic last season. Santa Rosa United 2009 (CA)

Recently coming off an 8-goal, 11-assist high school season, Gotshall was named to the Vine Valley Conference First Team and Press Democrat 2nd team. She was invited to the Copa STC and Racing Louisville ID Event in March, and has been part of the NorCal Premier PDP roster pool. She plays forward and attacking midfield with easy cuts to her left and right feet for key passes, crosses and shots on goal. On defense, Emmy is excellent at anticipation and forcing mistakes.

Fiona McCormick

Pepperdine has received a verbal commitment from this promising Class of 2026 attacking player, who can thrive both in the midfield and at the forward position. McCormick is an ECNL All-American who is an absolute force to be reckoned with, thanks to her game-breaking speed and elite level playmaking abilities, both as a passer and as a scorer.

The uncommitted Class of 2026 goalkeeper has been in outstanding form this season for Davis Legacy 2008. This past weekend she shined between the posts during a 1-0 clean sheet victory over San Juan SC, racking up 8 saves. (HIGHLIGHTS)

Dalia Sabet

The Purdue University Fort Wayne verbal commit is a strong contributor for Cleveland Force 2008 as an attacking midfielder and forward. On the high school side, she’s a First Team All-Ohio selection and a USA Today Player of the Year nominee for the Greater Akron/Canton area. She’s a great passer with deadly accurate through balls which routinely break defensive lines, and thrives in 1v1 interactions against defenders with the ball at her feet.

Kinsey Dufour

Kinsey is an Alaskan discovery player for the Seattle United 2008 ECNL team. She’s known for being a playmaker with an impressive soccer IQ. Her speed and confidence in 1v1 situations sets her apart. Kinsey plays in the ECNL, UPSL and has recently earned a spot on the South Anchorage High School Boys Varsity Soccer team for the 2025 season.

Olivia Hays is an impact player who excels as an attacking midfielder but also thrives as a forward, using her great vision, speed, quick cuts and turns to move the ball up the field. She is highly-proficient at creating goal-scoring opportunities and driving to goal, with a brace and several assists to her name this ECNL season. A skilled passer with the ability to use both feet, Olivia’s playmaking abilities as both a passer and scorer make her an uncommitted talent to watch.
