Players to Watch: ECNL Girls Regional League Championships

The ECNL Girls Regional League Playoffs kick off this Friday, June 16 with 346 U13-U19 teams competing across five different regions. ECNL RL winners will be determined in the Central, Northeast, Southeast, Texas, and West.

Ahead of the weekend’s action, here are some of the top players to know from across all five regions in the U15-U19 age groups. Players are divided up according to their graduation year.

2024

Jazelle Alvarado | Midfielder
D’Feeters Kicks SC 05/04 (TX)

Has played well in the midfield all season long for DKSC during their second place finish in the Texas Conference (15-3-8, 53 points). In addition her pinpoint passes, she can also create brilliant goal-scoring opportunities for herself. At the high school level, she was recently named to the Texas 11-5A All District First Team for Sunset High School. (ECNL RL Texas Championship)

Elena Garcia | Defender
CESA 06 (SC)

Earned a spot in the ECNL Regional League Selection Game in December for her lockdown defensive work. She can track attackers and make decisive, professional tackles in both close and open space. For CESA, she was also an asset on set pieces, making several key goals this season. (ECNL RL Southeast Championship)

Solimar Rivera | Midfielder-Forward
FC Stars Blue 05/04 (NJ)

A lightning quick attacker (she is a dual sport athlete in both soccer and track and field), Rivera can make darting runs both on and off of the ball and cause major confusion along defensive backlines. She is efficient with her touches, making even the most challenging of situations look easy. Her breakaway speed makes her a real problem for defenders and helped Stars scored 34 goals in conference play this season. (ECNL RL Northeast Championship)

Ellie Ketzner | Midfielder
Albion Hurricanes FC 05/04 (TX)

Led the AHFC attack from the midfield on an offense which scored 50 goals in Texas league play. She makes quick reads and on her first touch can immediately kick start the counterattack. Defensively, she can retain possession for long periods of time and can make the long passes to the outside to force opponents to chase and eat up the clock. (ECNL RL Texas Championship)

Ella Seelhoff | Forward
Seattle United 04/05 (WA)

A fast and crafty attacker, Seelhoff makes runs creating scoring opportunities and is one of our leading scorers on Seattle United ECRL. Ella’s speed causes distractions to her opponents and she can cross the ball precisely to her teammates. Seelhoff will lead her Glacier Peak High School team (as well as the Track & Field team) in Snohomish Washington as a 4 year Varsity player and captain. (ECNL RL West Championship)

Ashlyn Guerette | Goalkeeper
FC Stars White 04/05 (MA)

Representing the New England Conference champions, Guerette controlled play as a true leader of the defense in goal. Her communication is top notch, distribution out of the back is strong. She conceded only 13 goals in 14 games to help her team win the conference championship.

Great Falls Reston SC 06 (VA)

Spearheaded the Great Falls Reston SC defense in ECNL-RL Virginia North Blue play, limiting opponents to just four goals this season. She is unafraid to take on multiple attackers and can make the decisive clear during crunch-time to get results for her side. (ECNL RL Southeast Championship)

Addison Huber | Goalkeeper
FC Dallas 07 (TX)

As the only GK on the team, helped team secure first place in the competitive Texas conference. For this ECRL 2022-23 season, had 13 shutouts, only has given up 11 goals (3 were PKs). Has a .48 GAA and 90% save percentage. (ECNL RL Texas Championship)

Dylan McEntarfer | Defender
Virginia Rush 06 (VA)

McEntarfer is the center back for the 3x Virginia State Cup champion and ECNL-RL champion Virginia Rush 06 girls. She’s also a Rush National Team Select player, and was recently named to the 6A All-Region 1st team for Kellam High School in Virginia Beach. (ECNL RL Southeast Championship)

Loretta Petrashewicz | Defender
Scorpions 07 (MA)

A savvy, highly organized defender Petrashewicz helped lead the Scorpions backline to a 9-3-2 record on 32 points in the New England Conference. She is unafraid to make the big clear in close matches and is a leader along the backline for the 2007 side. (ECNL RL Northeast Championship)

Amanda Bailey | Midfielder
Wilmington Hammerheads 07 (NC) 

An explosive midfielder that can both create and supporting attacking plays, Bailey is very effective on the counter-attack.  She works seamlessly with her teammates on both sides of the pitch but can also lead when called upon. (ECNL RL Southeast Championship)

Bianca Mendez | Midfielder
DKSC RL 07 (TX) 

A versatile player that can play anywhere on the pitch, Mendez currently leads the team in both goals and assists this spring. She is also a key asset in the defense, able to make the track back to help support her teammates. (ECNL RL Texas Championship)

Bella Rose | Defender
DKSC RL 07 (TX) 

A complete center-back in every sense of the word, Rose is both comfortable in the air and on the ground, able to make consistent clears at timely points of the match. FC Dallas 07 (TX)

Representing an FC Dallas side which finished atop the RL standings with a goal differential of +52, with only 11 goals allowed all season. Wilbur is a strong center back with outstanding header and slide-tackling abilities. (ECNL RL Texas Championship)

Ohio Premier 08 (OH)

Team mainstay in the central midfield who helped her team to a first place finish in the Ohio Valley North Division. She has strong technical abilities on both the defensive and offensive sides of the ball. Kings Hammer FC 08 (KY)

Posted four shutouts this season for Kings Hammer and worked alongside fellow goalkeeper Maleah Lehmkuhl to limit opponents to just 16 goals in the Ohio Valley Conference. Make decisive saves in one-on-one situations. In addition to her athletic skills, she runs a tightly organized defensive line and can often be seen delivering directions to her defenders. Dallas Texans 07 (TX)

Key member of a Texans attack that scored 60 goals this season, Hatz is a fast, pacey striker that can hit shots from distance and at close range. She is also a huge asset on the counter-attack and can make precise diagonal runs that immediately force into panic mode. (ECNL RL Texas Championship)

Piper Mathers | Forward
Charlotte Independence South 08 (NC)

One of the leading goalscorers for an Independence side that scored 25 goals in the Carolina Conference this season, Mathers is a speedy forward that can break past multiple defenders. In terms of her striking ability, she can hit shots from both short and long distance but can also lay accurate passes in open space for her teammates. A dominant 2026 Forward who utilizes her speed, quick feet and calm finishing to break down opponents and maximize goal scoring opportunities. A member of the class of 2028 that is playing up an age group with the 2007s, Mumphrey has slotted in nicely with a high-scoring ECNL-RL Texans side that scored 60 goals this year.
