Potomac area teams rack up Disney Boys Soccer Showcase titles
Potomac area teams representing Baltimore Armour, Loudoun SC and Lee Mt. Vernon SC racked up a total of five division championships at the Disney Boys Soccer Showcase, which took place Dec. 28-31 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.
Several other Potomac area teams competed in the US Youth Soccer National League’s Florida event alongside the Disney Showcase.

Baltimore Armour dominated the U.S. Soccer Boys Development Academy divisions, earning first place in the U-12, U-14 and U-15 age groups while combining for a perfect 9-0-0 record.
Armour’s U-12 team outscored GPS – Massachusetts, Dallas Texans South and Charlotte SA North by a margin of 9-2.
The Armour U-14 side netted 11 goals while conceding only one, sweeping their division comprising Loudoun SC, Tampa Bay United and Charlotte SA.
At the U-15 level, Baltimore Armour 04 earned three consecutive clean sheet victories, including a pair of hard fought 1-0 shutouts against Tampa Bay United and Florida Premier FC in their first two games. They finished the event with a 4-0 rout of Loudoun SC.
Meanwhile, the Loudoun SC U-13 squad put on an impressive display on the attacking side during their sweep of the Disney Showcase’s Development Academy bracket. They scored 16 total goals at the event while conceding six, defeating Tampa Bay United, West Florida Flames and Charlotte SA.
Northern Virginia club Lee Mt. Vernon SC saw its LMVSC Patriots 02 Red team capture the U-17 Championship Black Division title at the Disney Showcase, finishing as the only team out of 12 with a perfect record in their three matches. LMVSC defeated teams from South Carolina, Kentucky and Florida by a margin of 10-2 during their championship run.

In addition, the SAC Baltimore Armour Pre-Academy squad nearly took the top spot in the U-16 Showcase Division, as they won all three of their games but placed second on tiebreaker behind Florida side Doral SC Elite. The Maryland team earned victories over teams from Louisiana, Texas and Florida at the prestigious showcase event.
