PREVIEW: ECNL Girls National Playoffs poised to feature 348 teams in Seattle

The ECNL Girls are headed to Seattle for the pinnacle event of the 2023-24 season, the ECNL Girls Playoffs. 348 teams across six age groups (U13-U18/19) will converge for a week of competition between the nation’s top female teams that will determine the U18/19 National Champion, the 40 teams that will advance to Richmond to play in the ECNL Girls Finals, and the champions of numerous Cup competitions.

Format: At the U18/19 age group, 16 teams will compete in a knockout tournament to claim the U18/19 National Championship.

The U13-U17 age groups each have 44 teams who have qualified for the ECNL Champions League and are looking to advance to Richmond for the ECNL Girls Finals. At each age group these 44 teams will be divided into 11 groups of four and will play three group stage games.

The winners of the 11 groups along with the five best second place teams will advance to the Round of 16, where they will play one knockout game to advance to the ECNL Girls Finals in Richmond in July.

In addition to the Champions League, the ECNL North American Cup will be contested at the U15-U17 age groups, and two ECNL Showcase Cups will be contested at the U16 and U17 age groups. All Cup competitions will be contested as a 16 team knockout bracket.

Three Things To Know

  1. SLSG Navy’s G06/05 team is chasing a historic three-peat after winning their second National Championship in a row at the U17 age group last season and going unbeaten to win the Midwest Conference this season. They take on Legends FC in the first round of the U18/19 Champions League.

  2. Slammers FC HB Køge captured the U18/19 National Championship title last season and will be looking to claim the title again this season. They open up play with a Round of 16 matchup against Concorde Fire Platinum.

  3. Solar SC’s G07 team claimed the U16 National Championship last season and looks to go back to back with the U17 National Championship this season, after finishing a perfect 15-0 in the Texas Conference. They will take on SLSG Navy, Rebels SC, and World Class FC in group play as they look to advance to the Round of 16.
