Providence women’s soccer signs four recruits from top youth clubs
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women’s soccer head coach Sam Lopes announced that four student-athletes will join the program in Fall 2021.
The incoming 2021 class consists of Maria Paveglio (Nationals), Olivia Rodman (Scorpions SC), Gillian Kenney (South Shore Select) and Victoria Bunz (FC Wisconsin).
Paveglio, a forward and defense from Lake Orion. Mich., currently plays for Lake Orion High School. Paveglio is a 2019 Development Academy National Quarterfinalist, 2018 Development Academy National Finalist and 2017 Midwest Regional League Premier One Division Champion. Paveglio plays club soccer for Nationals Soccer Club.
Rodman comes to Friartown from Canton High School where she was named Canton High School Rookie of the Year, Hockomock All-Star and Eastern Massachusetts All-Star. The forward and defender is a National Honor Society member and plays club soccer for the Scorpions Soccer Club.
Kenney, a forward and midfielder from Hanover Mass., was an All-State selection, Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic All-Eastern team member and led her team to the South Sectional Finals. Kenney holds three school records in the 400-meter, 800-meter and mile at Hanover High School. Kenney plays club soccer for South Shore Select.
Bunz joins the team from Middleton High School in Middleton, Wisc. Murphy is a three-time All-Conference selection and is a member of the National Honor Society. The forward and defender plays club soccer for FC Wisconsin.
