Purdue welcomes 6 new Boilermakers for Spring 2025
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Head coach Richard Moodie announced the additions of five transfers, and one early enrollee, to join the Boilermakers in the Spring of 2025.
The signing class includes four power four transfers, one former standout for the coaching staff from South Alabama, and an upcoming rookie from Apex, North Carolina.
“Truly excited about our incoming players this spring,” Moodie stated. “This group brings a wealth of experience and a clear understanding of what it takes to win, which is invaluable as we look ahead. These players have already demonstrated their ability to compete at a high level, and we are thrilled to have them join our Purdue Women’s Soccer family.”
The class includes midfielder, Irene Campo (South Alabama), midfielder, Megan Santa Cruz (Washington State), forward, Angelina Thoreson (LSU), forward, Mallory McGuire (Missouri), goalkeeper, Ally Lynch (Clemson), and defender, Allyssa Turner (Freshman).
Irene Campo
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Santander, Spain
High School: La Salle Santander
Former Team: South Alabama

Prior to Purdue:
Campo comes to Purdue after having spent time with the current coaching staff at South Alabama. She thrived for the Jaguars, scoring 12 goals in her sophomore year, including six assists. She was named the 2024 Sunbelt Offensive Player of the Year, as well as United Soccer Coaches Fourth-Team All American, and All-Southeast Region Second-Team. Campo was also named to the All-Conference First Team, and concluded her career in the Sun Belt with 17 goals and 6 assists before moving to the Big Ten.
Megan Santa Cruz
Position: Midfielder
Hometown: Burbank, Calif.
High School: Notre Dame HS
Former Team: Washington State

Prior to Purdue:
Santa Cruz has shown her talent beyond the collegiate stage as she was a member of the US National Team Pool. In her time at Washington State, she scored four goals with seven assists, three of them coming in her sophomore year. As a rookie, Santa Cruz earned Pac-12 All-Freshman team honors as well as being named to the TopDrawer Soccer Midseason Top 100 Freshman list at No. 23, and the Postseason list at No. 56. Her dynamic skills will strengthen the Purdue roster.
Angelina Thoreson
Position: Forward
Hometown: Uppsala, Sweden
High School: Celsiusskolan
Former Team: LSU
Career Accolades:
- TopDrawer Soccer Top 100 Freshman, No. 38
- Scored two goals for the Tigers with nine assists
- Helped LSU to a NCAA Tournament second-round appearance
Prior to Purdue:
In her two full seasons with LSU, Thoreson scored two goals with nine assists. In her rookie season, she earned 17 starts, including an appearance in the team’s NCAA Tournament second-round match against Florida State. Thoreson’s nine assists in 2022, led the Tigers, and was fourth-best in the SEC, earning her a spot on the TopDrawer Soccer Top 100 Freshman list, coming in at No. 38.
Ally Lynch
Position: Goalkeeper
Hometown: Los Angeles, Calif.
High School: Harvard-Westlake HS
Former Team: Clemson
Career Accolades:
- 2023 Member of the Final Four College Cup Team
- Prior to Clemson, ranked 16th goalkeeper in the nation
- Undefeated in goal (18-0) in senior season at Harvard-Westlake
Prior to Purdue:
After spending four seasons with Clemson, Lynch comes to West Lafayette as a seasoned vet in goal. Having helped her team to becoming a 2023 Final Four College Cup finalist, Lynch brings a winning culture with her to Purdue. Making three appearances in her senior year for the Tigers, Lynch earned her first-career victory in goal. As a high school senior, Lynch was ranked in the top goalkeepers in the nation (No. 16), after earning an undefeated 18-0 in her final season.
Mallory McGuire
Position: Forward
Hometown: Brookfield, Wis.
High School: Brookfield Central
Former Team: Mizzou, Rutgers
Career Accolades:
- Made 20 appearances for Mizzou
- Scored a goal for the Tigers in 2023 to help defeat Creighton
- Scored a goal for Rutgers in 2022 to help defeat Temple
Prior to Purdue:
Before West Lafayette, McGuire made stops at Rutgers and Missouri. She has two collegiate goals, both in wins, helping to defeat Creighton (Mizzou) and Temple (Rutgers). After playing in 20 matches for the Tigers, and four for the Scarlet Knights, her 696 collegiate minutes will bring experience to the Boilermakers.
Allyssa Turner
Position: Defender
Hometown: Apex, NC
High School: Holly Springs HS
Career Accolades:

- 19 goals, 11 assists in the 2024 season
- HighSchoolOT All-State Girls Soccer First-Team
Prior to Purdue:
During her time in high school and for the NC Courage (ECNL), Turner proved to be a standout. She was a member of the U17 German National Team Camp in 2023, as well as being on the National Team (U17) roster. Turner was also a member of the ODP National team in 2024, as well as the ODP Regional and State teams. In her final year with Holly Springs HS, Turner netted 19 goals with 11 assists to earn a spot on the 2024 HighSchoolOT All-State Girls Soccer First-Team.
