Real Madrid’s academy returning to Dallas Cup in 2025

DALLAS, Texas – Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in North America, announced the return of Real Madrid CF to the Gordon Jago Super Group for the 2025 Dallas Cup.

The 2025 edition of the tournament will be played April 13 through April 20. Real Madrid remains the only Spanish club to have claimed the prestigious Super Group “Boot & Ball” trophy, securing back-to-back titles in 1993 and 1994. The 1993 squad, which marked Real Madrid’s Dallas Cup debut, was coached by legendary manager Rafa Benitez. The following year, their 1994 championship run was highlighted by a hat-trick in the final from Spanish soccer icon Raúl.

Now set for their sixth appearance at the tournament, Los Blancos will look to build on their most recent run in the 2023 competition, where they reached the semifinals before a narrow 3-2 defeat against eventual champions FC Midtjylland out of Denmark.

One of the most popular clubs in the world, Real Madrid holds several records at both the senior and academy levels. The first team is the reigning champion of La Liga, with a record 36 league titles, and recently secured their 15th UEFA Champions League trophy after defeating Dortmund this past May. At the academy level, Real Madrid continues to set the standard for youth development through their famed academy, La Fábrica (“The Factory”). The academy has produced countless world-class talents and boasts a record eight Copa de Campeones de Juvenil titles and 15 Copa del Rey Juvenil de Fútbol titles.

Real Madrid joins a strong lineup of confirmed teams for the 2025 Gordon Jago Super Group, including defending champions São Paulo FC out of Brazil, Danish Superliga champions FC Midtjylland, Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt, and Premier League side Newcastle United. A total of 12 elite teams from top professional clubs and national federations worldwide will compete for the iconic “Boot & Ball” trophy next April.

The 2025 Dallas Cup will be played from April 13 through April 20. As it prepares for the 46th edition of the tournament in 2025, the Dallas Cup continues to build on the remarkable legacy established since its inception in 1980. With the recent acquisition of the Dallas International Girls Cup, the tournament is poised to significantly expand in scope and size, as both the boys and girls brackets will now feature U10 through U19 age divisions.
