Red Bulls Academy standout Tanner Rosborough to join MLS Homegrown ranks in 2025
HARRISON, N.J. – New York Red Bulls II have signed Red Bulls Academy product Tanner Rosborough to an MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2024 season. Rosborough will join the first team on an MLS contract as a Homegrown player starting in 2025 through the 2028 MLS season, with an option for 2029.
“Tanner has shown in our Academy why he is so highly regarded, and we cannot be happier to sign him to his first professional contract,” Sporting Director Denis Hamlett said. “His skills as a forward at this point in his career have led him to this opportunity, and we know he will take full advantage of it.”
Rosborough has been with Red Bulls Academy for just about a year, and the forward quickly made his impact within the system. The 15-year-old was one of the top scorers in the most recent U15 MLS NEXT season and showcased his talent in the Generation Adidas and MLS NEXT Cups. Rosborough scored the tournament winning goal in stoppage time to lead the U-15’s to a 2-1 win over CF Montreal in the 2023 U-15 MLS NEXT Cup Final.

The 15-year-old made his professional debut with New York Red Bulls II on April 21, 2023, against New England Revolution II, making him one of the youngest players to appear in a match in club history.
“Tanner is a talent that will be a very important asset to the club now, and in the future,” Head Coach Ibrahim Sekagya said. “He proved through our Academy that he has an incredible amount of composure in the final third and an inherent ability to find the back of the net.”
The forward has had multiple Youth National Team call ups in his young career, with the most recent being for the U15 CONCACAF Championship down in Miami, Florida. Rosborough scored two goals in six matches as his side cruised to a victory and claim the U15 CONCACAF Championship title.
