Region I Champions League teams advance to 2015 Region I Championships
FRISCO, Texas (May 14, 2015) — Through success in the US Youth Soccer Region I Champions League, several Region I teams have punched their ticket to the 2015 US Youth Soccer Region I (East) Championships, to be played June 26-30 at the Barboursville Soccer Complex and Scott Orthopedic Soccer Complex in Barboursville, W.Va.
The Region I Champions League qualifiers will join US Youth Soccer State Cup champions and select wild card teams, as more than 260 top US Youth Soccer Boys and Girls sides from the 15 US Youth Soccer State Associations compete for the regional title.
Region I is composed of 15 US Youth Soccer State Associations, including Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York West, Pennsylvania West, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia.
The Region I Champions League provides an opportunity for the most competitive teams in US Youth Soccer Region I to play each other on a scheduled basis while also competing for placement in the prestigious US Youth Soccer Regional Championships, as well as the US Youth Soccer National League.
The National League is an extension of the highly successful US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues (Region I Champions League, Region II Midwest Regional League, Region III Southern Premier League and Region IV Far West Regional League). Each league provides the best localized matchups and an opportunity for advancement to play at the national level — giving players great opportunities for development while facing top competition.
