Remaining places sorted in U-16 Development Academy Finals Week
While the New York Red Bulls claimed the Development Academy U-16 championship with a 1-0 victory over St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri, the remaining teams in Houston sorted out third through eighth places.
Crew Soccer Academy Wolves claimed third place over the Chicago Fire. After the two teams played to a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime, CSA Wolves outscored the Fire 6-5 in penalties.
In the fifth place match, Pateadores broke through 15 minutes into the second half and defeated PA Classics 2-0. Nahum Paz scored in the 60th minute, and six minutes later, Kevin de la Torre, who assisted on the first goal, picked up one of his own.
D.C. United took the seventh place match with a 3-0 shutout of Charlotte Soccer Academy. Current Korrio Player to Watch Jorge Calix picked up United’s first goal in the 25th minute. United added to its total with goals from Mike Sauers and Robert Palmer in the second half.
