Saint Louis University brings in talented 2025 recruiting class, featuring 10 players

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis University head women’s soccer coach Katie Shields has announced the addition of the Billikens’ 2025 recruiting class, a group comprising 10 student-athletes who will join the program next fall.
“We are thrilled to officially welcome the 2025 recruiting class to our program,” Shields said. “This is a deep and talented group that will make an immediate impact on our program. These 10 individuals are elite competitors and high-character student-athletes. We look forward to watching them write their legacy in Billiken blue as we continue to pursue championships and compete on the national stage.”

Shields on Broesder: “Adee is an elite athlete. As a dual-sport standout in soccer and track, her pace and engine will thrive within our system. She can play almost any position on the field and be dominant in her impact. Whether beating players 1v1 on the flank, getting in the box to score goals or suffocating the opponent with her defensive pressing, Adee will add tremendous quality to our program.”

As a junior, was United Soccer Coaches All-Central Region, first-team All-State, Region 1 Offensive Player of the Year, Girls Independent Schools League Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference, and first-team All-Metro … All-Conference first team and second team as a sophomore and freshman, respectively … in club soccer, was U18 ECNL first-team All-Conference and U17 ECNL second-team All-Conference.
Shields on Chier: “Caroline is a fierce competitor and dynamic attacking player. She plays with a relentless attacking mentality, always looking to score goals or create for others. She has the rare combination of attacking creativity and hard-nosed defensive mentality. Caroline’s passion and competitiveness will thrive in our championship culture.”

All-Conference performer at Libertyville … participated in a United States Youth National Team Talent Identification Center.

Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association first-team All-State and first-team All-District as a sophomore and senior … All-Conference and All-County as a freshman, sophomore and senior … Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Top Team Player as a freshman … four-time Ohio Valley ECNL All-Conference selection … invited to play in the ECNL Super Cup … played in the WPSL and was an All-Central Region honoree and a member of the Gateway All-Conference Best XI team … made the 2024 ISCA Academic All-State team.
Shields on Fishel: “Summer is a box-to-box midfielder. She can score goals from distance, final pass at a high level and deliver elite set-piece service. Her ability to solve pressure in possession through combination play and on the dribble makes everyone around her better. Additionally, Summer’s ability to defend and dominate physically in the air and on the ground will make her a force in our midfield.”
Avery Fitzgerald • F/M • Hartland, Wis. (Arrowhead H.S. | SC Wave)
All-State, All-Region and first-team All-Conference at Arrowhead … in club competition, was ECNL first-team All-Conference and a participant in the ECNL National Selection Game.
Shields on Fitzgerald: “Avery is a fast and exciting left-footed attacking player. She is dynamic on the dribble and in front of the goal. Her ability to beat players 1v1 and get played in behind will open space for our midfielders to make plays while she is always a threat to goal. Defensively, Avery’s ability to close space quickly and relentless work rate will fit in seamlessly in our defending system.”
Blakely Hockett • D • Edwardsville, Ill. (Edwardsville H.S. | St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL 06/07 Navy)
As a junior, helped lead Edwardsville to fourth place in the state and was an IHSA All-Sectional selection … in club soccer, was named ECNL Midwest first-team All-Conference in 2023 as a member of the national champion St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL 06/07 Navy team.
Shields on Hockett: “Blakely embodies so much of what makes our program special. She was a long-time youth camper at our summer camps. We have loved watching Blakely’s development into an elite local youth player with St. Louis Scott Gallagher and are thrilled for her to join us in Billiken blue. Blakely is a defensive force. She is dominant aerially and an elite athlete who can defend against the opponent’s best attackers. We look forward to watching her develop into an elite defender at the college level.”

Shields on Lewis: “Kate is an elite local goalkeeper with deep Saint Louis University family ties. She is an intense competitor and relentless worker. Her strong technical ability, presence and instincts make her a tremendous goalkeeper. Was a member of St. Louis Scott Gallagher ECNL Navy’s U16 and U17 national championship teams … club team was Midwest Conference champion from U14 through U18-19 … member of the SLSG Super Cup team as a freshman, sophomore and junior, and is playing her senior year for St. Dominic … member of National Honor Society and HOSA (Future Health Professionals).
Shields on Rademeyer: “Ava is the type of midfielder who thrives in SLU blue. She is tough, smart and incredibly talented. She will be a dominant defensive presence in the midfield who can also set play in possession. Ava comes to us as a two-time ECNL national champion as a member of the SLSG 06 Navy and will be a mainstay in our midfield for years to come.”

Illinois All-State, Chicagoland All-State and North Suburban All-Conference as a sophomore and junior … 2023 BODYARMOR Series Most Valuable Player … helped Warren Township to a regional title in 2024 … 2023 ECNL All-Conference first team with Eclipse Select SC … played with the 2024 WPSL Central Conference champion Milwaukee Torrent and was an All-Conference honoree.
