SEC Soccer 2023 Preseason Watchlist features 72 top players from around the league

Birmingham, Ala. – Seventy-two student-athletes have been named to the 2023 SEC Soccer Preseason Watchlist.

The SEC returns 50 percent (14 of 28) of the players that earned first or second team All-SEC honors last season. Six first team selections return for the 2023 campaign. Included in the group of returners are 2022 third team All-Americas Anna Podojil (Arkansas) and Felecia Knox (Alabama).

Arkansas is the favorite to win the 2023 Southeastern Conference women’s soccer title in voting by the league’s 14 head coaches. Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas A&M rounded out the top five.

The 31st season of women’s soccer in the SEC season begins Thursday, August 17.
