Seton Hall announces 2022 women’s soccer signing class, featuring 9 players
South Orange, N.J. — Seton Hall women’s soccer head coach Josh Osit has announced the addition of nine new student-athletes that will join the program this upcoming season.
Three of the newcomers are transfers with extensive Division I experience and the remaining six have had success at the international and club levels. They will join a Seton Hall squad that has made strides the last three years and is coming off a season that registered its most wins in a season since 2012.
Madison DeCola | DEF | Mahopac, N.Y. | Mahopac High School
Madison DeCola played a key position for both Mahopac High School and PNW BOCES as a center back defender. Across her high school career, DeCola won multiple honors for her outstanding talent as a defender. Her honors include Elite 11 (2021), All-League (2019, 2020, 2021), All-Section Honorable Mention (2020) and All-Section (2021). DeCola’s impressive performance throughout the 2021 season landed her a spot in the Section 1 All-Star Game.
Alex Fuggle | DEF | London, England | Middle Tennessee State
Alex Fuggle joins the Pirates family as a transfer student from Middle Tennessee State University where she logged 1,271 minutes in 20 matches played, including 14 starts. This past season, she played the full 90 minutes and helped lead her team to a 2-1 win over Vanderbilt, the Blue Raiders’ first win over an SEC team since 2013. She played for Arsenal U21 Academy and also played for Tottenham Hotspur U23s development, Millwall Lionesses Regional Talent Club and Oxford RTC. Fuggle won the Kinder+ Sport Girls National Cup final at Wembley Stadium — scoring the game-winner and earning the Jack Petchey Award for her play throughout the competition — and the Middlesex Cup in 2016 and 2018. Fuggle has national experience with Ireland U19 where she saw action in two games against Russia in 2020.
Jaasiel Forde | DEF | Trincity, Trinidad and Tobago | Gardner-Webb
Forde will arrive in South Orange with four seasons of college experience and national team experience. A strong defender, she helped Gardner-Webb post eight shutouts last season and she was also a threat to score; all three of her shots were on goal and she found the back of the net twice. Forde also assisted on two goals as a senior. This past November she earned a call-up to the Trinidad and Tobago National Team. Forde played in 56 matches at Gardner-Webb with 47 starts and joins the Pirates as a graduate student.
Abby Hall | DEF | Brookfield, Wisc. | Brookfield East High School
Abby Hall played a vital role to her high school as a four year varsity player and for her club team, FC Wisconsin, as a forward. In 2021, she scored 10 goals and tallied 6 assists en route to garnering second-team all conference honors. Hall helped lead Brookfield East to the WIAA Division 2 State finals in 2019 and she ended her high school career on an impressive note in 2022 with 14 goals scored and six assists.
Paige Ingram | DEF | Santa Barbara, Calif. | IMG Academy
Paige Ingram joins the Pirates from IMG Academy via Santa Barbara, Calif. A team captain as both a junior and senior at San Marcos High School, Ingram was named All-Channel League as a junior and senior. In 2021, Ingram earned All-CIF Division honors and lead her team to a CIF state championship. Ingram tallied four assists, two goals and played in 16 games for the full 90 minutes as a senior at San Marcos and played the full 90 in 10 games with three goals and three assists at IMG.
Grace Mitchell | MID | Perth, Australia | Stroud College
Along with her sister Sarah, Grace Mitchell arrives to Seton Hall from South Gloucestershire and Stroud College via Perth, Australia. Mitchell earned call ups with Scotland’s U19 National Team in both 2021 and 2022 for UEFA Qualifying Group play where she appeared in two games. She also started every game last season with Bristol Academy in the WSL on a squad where she was named vice captain.
Sarah Mitchell | MID | Perth, Western Australia | Stroud College
Similar to her sister Grace, Sarah Mitchell is an accomplished midfielder/defender with extensive national team and WSL academy experience with Bristol City. She was called up to the Scotland U19 National Team and played in the UEFA Qualifying Group Round fixture against the Netherlands in 2021. In her native Australia, she was was the National Training Center team captain in 2016 and vice captain for Western Australia team in the 2019 Hainan Qiongzhong Cup.
Brina Micheels | MID | Plattsburgh, N.Y. | Western Kentucky
Brina Micheels was named to the 2020-21 C-USA All-Freshman Team at Western Kentucky after playing in 12 games, tallying a goal and tying for the team lead with three assists. As a sophomore, she was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week and was named to the TopDrawer Soccer National Team of the Week after scoring two goals in an overtime against Vanderbilt. In her career as a Hilltopper, she played in 27 games, made 21 starts, had six assists and scored four goals including two game-winners. Prior to Western Kentucky, Micheels was a part of the US National Training Center from 2014-2016, participated in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in 2019 and was invited on two separate occasions to to train with the Washington Spirit first team.
Emma Sheehan | FWD | Argyle, Texas | Argyle High School
Emma Sheehan joins the Pirates after an impressive youth career in Texas with Solar Club, D’Feeters, and Argyle High School. A team captain as both a junior and senior, Sheehan was a key player to her high school team landing her a spot in the 2022 Texas Senior All-Star Game. She earned the role of Standout Player for three consecutive years in the ECNL Showcase, once with her Solar Club, and the following two years with D’Feeters. Additionally, she played a vital role in leading Solar Club to the ECNL National Playoffs in 2019 and again for D’Feeters in 2021.
