Seven Tri-State area teams earn US Youth Soccer Region I titles

Seven teams representing New York, New Jersey and Connecticut won division titles on Tuesday at the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships in West Virginia.

Three of the seven Region I champions from the Tri-State area are Syracuse Development Academy sides, taking home the U-13 Boys, U-16 Girls and U-18 Girls trophies while earning automatic berths for the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

Other local clubs that had teams capture regional championships include Cedar Stars Academy (U-12 Boys), Smithtown Kickers SC (U-19 Boys), Soccer Domain FC (U-12 Girls), New Jersey Rush (U-13 Girls) and HBC Soccer (U-15 Girls).

The South Central Premier 03/04 U-12 Boys, Empire United SA Rochester U-13 Boys, Dix Hills Elite U-18 Boys, Smithtown Panthers U-12 Girls, Princeton SA U-15 Girls and FC Copa Celeste U-17 Girls each finished as finalists in their respective age groups.
