Sixty players on display at PDP hosted by New England Premiership
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Via US Club Soccer) – The New England Premiership (NEP), which joined US Club Soccer last year, hosted its first US Club Soccer Player Development Program (PDP) event, Sept. 12 at ForeKicks II in Marlborough, Mass.
The PDP targeted 2002 girls and 2003 boys, with 32 girls from 10 different clubs and 28 boys from eight different clubs.
Players were led through an hour-long training session and 30 minutes of small-sided games.
“The PDP hosted by NEP will allow better identification of players for id2 and provide the most promising young players from New England with a fantastic development opportunity,” NEP League Director Sean Carey said. “It is hoped that by working with these age groups over the next six months, we will be in a great position to nominate players for the next cycle of id2.”
The New England Premiership has plans to host additional PDPs this fall, as it expands PDP opportunities to multiple age groups in October and November.
