Team USA selections lead to movement in SoccerWire Top 100 Girls Clubs for April 2022

Sterling, Va. – SoccerWire has revealed the Top 100 Girls Club Rankings for April 2022, as the spring portion of the 2021-22 campaign heads into a critical juncture.

The newest edition of the national club rankings feature an emphasis on current standings / points per game in the ECNL and Girls Academy for the 2021-22 season, and recent call-ups to U.S. Youth Women’s National Teams by current members of the club. These factors are combined and weighted alongside final postseason standings and championship results carried over from the 2020-21 campaign.

Dallas area powerhouse Solar SC has taken back the No. 1 spot in the rankings after receiving a remarkable number of U.S. Youth National Team call-ups during the new cycle. A whopping seven Solar SC players were selected for the 36-player U-15 USYWNT roster in March, and the club is also represented on the latest U-16 and U-17 USA rosters.

No. 2 ranked San Diego Surf has also earned an outsized share of the Team USA rosters, as the club has two players on the U-15 squad, four on the U-16 team and two on the U-17 side that is currently playing in the Concacaf U-17 Women’s Championship.

ECNL clubs make up each of the top 6 spots in the April rankings, with Slammers HB Køge, MVLA, PDA and Crossfire Premier holding spots No. 3-6. Michigan club Nationals is the top-ranked Girls Academy club, after recently being crowned as the GA’s inaugural Champions League overall club winner.
