Some 300 teams will compete in the PWSI Icebreaker Tournament this weekend, March 28-29 which features U-9 to U-19 girls age groups and U-13 to U-19 divisions on the boys side.

The preseason event will serve as a true “icebreaker” for many of the attending teams which will see their first outdoor competition of the season following several weeks of other tournaments being cancelled or shortened significantly due to snow or rain.

Like every PWSI tournament, the event features a charitable component. The tournament supports the US Soccer Foundation’s Passback Program in which players are encouraged to used soccer equipment to registration or any game site for collection. The equipment is then distributed to underprivileged athletes.

Most teams represent clubs from Virginia and Maryland, with others coming in from Pennsylvania, West Virginia and North Carolina. See below for a breakdown of attending clubs for the PWSI Icebreaker U-9 to U-19 girls and U-13 to U-19 boys age groups.
