Southern Utah University women’s soccer adds 14 to roster
CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah University women’s soccer team and head coach Kai Edwards have announced the signing of 14 new Thunderbirds ahead of the 2020 season.
Coach Edwards and recruiting coordinator Mario Felix have hit the ground running this spring, in order to find the right fit entering the first year under the new staff.
“We set out to add athleticism, soccer IQ and good people,” Edwards said. “This class encompasses the traits we need looking for in growing this program. We have multiple states represented but we also have a strong Utah and Vegas influence as those are two strong soccer markets that we recruit.”
Edwards was hired as the head coach at SUU in early December, and Felix officially joined the staff after the new year.
“Bringing in freshman and older transfers was a focus of ours to have class and positional balance in our fall roster,” Edwards added. “We look forward to watching these players gel and grow this program with returning players who have trained hard all spring.”
