Stetson University men’s soccer adds Jack Roberts to coaching staff

Stetson University men’s soccer head coach Emmett Rutkowski today announced the hiring of Jack Roberts as assistant coach.

“I am delighted to welcome Jack Roberts to Stetson University and our men’s soccer program,” Rutkowski said. “After an extensive search, Jack emerged as the outstanding candidate to fit our program. He has an excellent background as a coach and as an elite-level player that will allow him to make immediate contributions to our program and to our student-athletes.”

Roberts will serve as Rutkowski’s top assistant. He comes to Stetson after one season as an assistant at Saint Leo. A former standout on the pitch at Missouri State, Roberts also coached at his alma mater in addition to a stop at William Woods University. He also owns experience working with club and high school teams in both the U.S. and England.

“I am really excited to be working at a school with such a great reputation, nationwide,” Roberts said. “I’m looking forward to being part of a growing University, program and the project that Emmett has here at Stetson.”

A native of the United Kingdom, Roberts spent two seasons (2017-18) with Missouri State, helping lead the Bears to a Missouri Valley Conference championship in 2017 and a Top 25 national ranking during the 2018 campaign. At William Woods in 2016, Roberts led the Owls to a 12-7 mark and school-record six conference victories.

Last season Roberts helped guide the Lions to a 7-10 overall record and a 3-7 mark in the Sunshine State Conference, a four-win improvement over the previous season.
