TAMPA, Fla. (Via Super Y League) – The Super Y League is spreading with the creation of a new Mid South Division, which will encompass Northern Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Western Arkansas and Missouri.

The division will begin play in 2017, with participating clubs having the opportunity to compete at the North American Super Y League Finals. Member clubs joining the Mid South Division will be announced starting next week on SYLSoccer.com.

“The creation of the Mid South Division signals the exciting and confident approach the Super Y League is taking towards bringing the league to high-quality clubs across the country,” USL Director of Business Development Joel Nash said. “The region, which includes Northern Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, is rich with talent, and clubs are taking advantage of a player-development opportunity that provides competitive play during the summer months.”

The Mid South will be the seventh division in the SYL starting in 2017, as it joins the New England, North Atlantic, Mid Atlantic, South Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest.

SYL players who compete in the Mid South Division will be able to participate in the annual SYL Regional Scouting Series Events and be eligible for selection into the SYL National Player Pool, with the chance of being selected to take part in the USL Experience.
