Ten Class of 2025 recruits sign with Xavier women’s soccer program

CINCINNATI – Xavier women’s soccer head coach Dean Ward announced the addition of a 10-person signing class to the program.
The incoming class will join the Musketeers in Fall 2025, in addition to the pair of signees that joined the roster in Spring 2025, freshman Petronella Winblad and transfer Tuva Hodne.
Nastassja Garrett
Nastassja Garrett is a forward and center back from Overland Park, Kansas, where she attends Blue Valley Northwest High School.
Garrett as a four-year member of the varsity team at Blue Valley Northwest, playing for coaches Michelle Pothoven and Brian Pollack during her career. She was ranked the No. 1 defender and No. 3 overall player in Kansas for the class of 2025 by PrepSoccer and is coming off a 2024 season where she helped her squad to a Kansas 6A Regional Championship and a spot in the Kansas High School 6A State Championship match. Garrett earned Kansas 6A All-State honors for a second-straight season in 2024 and earned a spot on the MoKan All-Tournament Team and Metro Sports MoKan Kansas All-State Team. In both her junior and senior seasons, she was named All-Eastern Kansas League, an All-KC Metro Top 20 Player for the class of 2025, and one of the Top 25 Players in Kansas.

Garrett has club experience with Sporting Blue Valley, most recently playing with Sporting Blue Valley ECNL ’07, which ranked as high as No. 2 in Midwest and No. 16 nationally after playing in the 2024 ECNL Playoffs, winning North American Cup Championships. In 2024, she was also a member of the 2024 USYS ODP National Team U17 – Costa Rica, was a member of USYS ODP Midwest Regional 2007 Team, and was invited and attended USYS ODP Florida Interregional.
Garrett plans to study a Pre-Med track at Xavier. She is the daughter of Sonja and Dale Garrett and has a younger sister, Katerina. Her mother was a part of the Cross Country and Track and Field program at Eastern Kentucky.
Cameron Goddard
Cameron Goddard is an attacking midfielder from Johnstown, Ohio, where she attends Johnstown Monroe High School.
Goddard played for coach Chip Wall’s varsity program at Johnston Monroe since her freshman season, earning All-Licking County League and All-Central District honors in multiple seasons during her prep career. Following the 2023 season, she was named the LCL Player the Year and earned Second Team All-State honors.
Goddard has 13 years of club experience, most recently playing with ECNL Ohio Premier. During her club career, she played at the San Diego Nationals in 2023 and Seattle Nationals in 2024 and earned invites to Continental Tire Game in Arizona as well as the U.S. ID Camp.
Goddard plans to study Business and Marketing at Xavier. She is the daughter of Keri Goddard and Tom Ash.
Kyra Hartogs
Kyra Hartogs is a midfielder from Vienna, Virginia, where she attends James Madison High School.
Hartogs played three years of varsity soccer at James Madison for coach Jim Mensah. Hartogs is coming off a senior season where she was a team captain, starting in all 20 matches and helping the team to a 16-3-1 record with six goals and 16 assists. Following the 2024 season, she was named First Team All-Concorde District, as well as First Team All-Region and Second Team All-State.
Hartogs has nine years of club experience, starting her career with Vienna Youth Soccer and playing for Loudoun Soccer Club and Fairfax Virginia Union at the ECNL level.

Hartogs is the daughter of Peter and Cassie Hartogs and has one sibling, Nicole.
Callie Houtz
Callie Houtz is a forward from Bristow, Virginia, where she attends Patriot High School.
Houtz was a four-year member of the varsity team at Patriot, playing for coach Kelly Payne. During her time with the program, Patriot was the 2021 district champions and won a pair of regional championships. Patriot advanced to the State Championship match in 2021 and were State Semifinalists in 2022.
Houtz has 14 years of club experience playing with Virginia Development Academy. During her time with VDA, the club has won six-straight Mid Atlantic Conference Championships and advance to the Elite 8 at Nationals in 2023.
Houtz plans on majoring in Psychology at Xavier. She is the daughter of Christian and Charles Houtz.
Gianna Mlynek
Gianna Mlynek is a goalkeeper from Anderson Township, Ohio, where she attends Anderson High School.
Mlynek was a four-year member of the varsity team at Anderson, playing for coach Andy Boyd. During her senior season, she helped Anderson to a 16-0-0 record and earned Eastern Cincinnati Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors, as well as a spot on the All-Conference First Team. Mlynek also collected All-Southwest honors and earned a No. 1 ranking in the state of Ohio.
Mlynek has played club soccer with Cincinnati United Premier Girls Academy for six years, helping the team to the 2021 National Championship, a Semifinalist finish in 2022 and a National Championship finalist in 2023. She also helped CUP to 2022 and 2023 Champions Cup Championships.
Mlynek plans on majoring in International Marketing at Xavier. She is the daughter of Giselle and Mark Mlynek, and has a younger sibling, Gavin. Both of her parents were collegiate athletes, her mother played soccer and softball at Kenyon, and her father was a member of the wrestling team at West Liberty.
Brooklyn O’Brien
Brooklyn O’Brien is a winger/outside back from Los Gatos, California, where she attends Saint Francis High School.
O’Brien was a four-year member of the varsity team at Saint Francis, playing for coach Carlos Barboza. During her career, she helped the squad to over 60 wins, winning the West Catholic Athletic League in 2022, 2023 and 2024. The team also claimed the 2022 and 2024 CCS Championship as well as the 2023 NorCal Championships. O’Brien earned WCAL All-League honors twice during her prep career.

O’Brien has 11 years of club experience, playing with MVLA ECNL. During her time with the club, MVLA has advanced to the ECNL Round of 16 twice and been ECNL Quarterfinalists twice.
O’Brien plans on majoring in Business at Xavier. She is the daughter of Staci and Mark O’Brien and has two siblings, Grady and Addy. Her mother played soccer at UCLA, and her father played baseball at San Jose State.
Sara Parker
Sara Parker is a forward from Derby, Connecticut, where she attends St. Joseph High School.
Parker was a four-year varsity starter for coach Jack Nogueira at St. Joseph. She helped the squad to over 75 wins during her career, winning the Class L Championship in 2021 and 2022, the Class LL title in 2024, and finishing runners-up in the Class LL Championship in 2024. Parker earned All-State and All-New England honors in multiple seasons and was named All-FCIAC in each of her last three seasons.
Parker has played club with Yankee United FC since 2019, helping the team to State Cup Championships in 2021, 2022 and 2024, a Regional Semifinal berth in 2021, a Regional Finalist bid in 2022, and a National Pro League Championship and National Qualifiers spot in 2023. Parker was named to USYS Best XI – National Pro League in 2022.
Parker plans on majoring in Exercise Science at Xavier. She is the daughter of Elizabeth and Joseph Parker.
Presley Pennekamp
Presley Pennekamp is a forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attends Oak Hills High School.
Pennekamp was a four-year varsity starter for coach Kevin Spraul at Oak Hills, collecting 284 career points on 116 goals and 52 assists. During her time at Oak Hill, the program won over 60 matches and won three Greater Miami Conference Championships. Pennekamp earned All-Ohio honors in each of her four seasons, was named the GMC Player of the Year three times, and was twice named an All-American.
Pennekamp has experience playing club with Ohio Elite ECNL, earning All-Conference First and Second Team honors during her time with the club.
Pennekamp plans on majoring in Criminal Justice at Xavier. She is the daughter of Leslie Pennekamp and Eric Pennekamp, and has one brother, Dylan, and three stepsisters, Natalie, Grace and Caroline. Her father played baseball at Sinclair Community College and her stepsister Caroline is part of the synchronized skating program at Miami.

Elizabeth Powell
Elizabeth Powell is a center back from Dublin, Ohio, where she attends Dublin Jerome High School.
Powell was a four-year member of the varsity team at Dublin Jerome, playing for coach Georgi Petrov, helping the squad to district championships in each of the last three seasons. Powell is coming off a senior season where she scored six goals from the backline, while helping the defense limit opponents to just seven goals against in 19 matches. Following her senior season, she earned First Team All-OOC and All-District honors and was named Player of the Year and Defender of the Year.
Powell has club experience playing with Ohio Premier, helping the team advance to Nationals in California in 2023.
Powell plans on majoring in Business at Xavier. She is the daughter of Julie and Timothy Powell and has two siblings, Andrew and Tommy.
Reese Sochacki
Reese Sochacki is a forward/midfielder from Indianapolis, Indiana, where she attends Bishop Chatard High School.
At Bishop Chatard, Sochacki was a three-year member of the varsity squad, playing for coach Ashton Blach. She amassed 40 goals and 24 assists during her career, helping her team to 40 wins. During her time at Bishop Chatard, the team won two Circle City Conference Championships, and collected City, Sectional, and Regional championships.
Sochacki also has nine years of club experience, playing with Indy Eleven Pro Academy and Indy Eleven W League. During her club career, she has earned ECNL Ohio Valley All-Conference First and Second Team honors, was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Top 150 list, and attended the US Soccer ID Center.
Sochacki is the daughter of Joe and Emily Sochacki and has one sibling, Jackson. Both of her parents played collegiate soccer, with her mother playing at Indiana and her father playing at IUPUI.
