SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Via US Club Soccer) – The 2017 NorCal Premier State Cup Finals, May 20-21 at Cosumnes River College, delivered 10 championships to eight clubs in the competition’s top State Division.

In total, the 2017 NorCal State Cup – ranging from 9-U to 19-U – included 3,300 teams. The competition is split between 14-U through 19-U and 9-U through 13-U. The older age groups, competing in six divisions of competitiveness – State (highest), Premier, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Copper, wrapped up last weekend at Cosumnes River College.

State Division winners have earned advancement to the National Cup XVI Finals, the culminating event of US Club Soccer’s cup-based national championship series. During last year’s National Cup XV Finals in Colorado, Salinas Galaxy ’01 won a national title at the 14-U Super Group division.

Lamorinda United (15-U and 16-U boys) and Davis Legacy (16-U and 19-U girls) were the only clubs to clinch more than one bracket. Lamorinda’s 16-U and 17-U girls teams finished as finalists in their respective brackets. Marin FC came close to grabbing its second championship of the tournament, but fell short in the 15-U girls division. West Coast Wild was edged in the 19-U girls championship game. Two years ago, that team won the 17-U Girls Super Group national title in Indiana.
