Texas clubs Lonestar SC and FC Westlake form elite girls partnership

Beginning in the upcoming 2020-2021 season, Lonestar Soccer Club and FC Westlake, the two largest homegrown clubs in Austin/Central Texas, will partner up to create an elevated level of soccer for players from both clubs.

Through the Girls Academy League and Frontier Development League program, the partnership offers an elite pathway and foundation for players to compete at the highest levels of the game.

“Lonestar SC and Westlake FC have joined forces to invest in the future of girls soccer. Both clubs share similar interests and a history of working together. A mutual vision to provide the right pathway for all female players is the goal of each program as they seek to build for the future in the new normal.”
-Brian Monaghan, Lonestar SC Executive Director of Soccer

“I’m delighted that we have established a partnership with Lonestar SC that allows FC Westlake’s top-level girls teams to start competing at the elite level of play this coming season. As a club we’ve strived to build great teams with wonderful players and families, this next progression into the elite national level of play is very exciting and well deserved for our players, families & coaches.”
-Stephen Ferguson, FC Westlake General Manager

“I am very excited to partner with Lonestar Soccer Club at the Elite Level of play. After years of working together at the Academy and SLA level, this is the most natural progression to allow both clubs to come together to create an environment for all players in Austin. I look forward to seeing everyone back out on the fields very soon!”
-Andy McClelland, FC Westlake Director of Coaching

“This is a long time coming for the two of us in the Austin soccer community. We are fully looking forward to expanding the player opportunities between our clubs in the coming years. Additionally, our collaborative efforts to strengthen and improve our soccer environments on and off the field will benefit all levels of our membership for many years to come.”
