East Brunswick, NJ (Via EDP) – Three more top clubs – BRAUSA United Futebol Club (MD); NY Surf Soccer Club (NYE); and West Mont United (PAE) – today announced they will be playing in the new US Youth Soccer National League EDP Conferences in 2018-19.

BRAUSA and West Mont will have their top 13U through 19U boys teams playing in the club-based model in the US Youth Soccer National League South-Atlantic EDP Conference, while NY Surf will have its top 13U through 19U girls team play in the club-based model in the US Youth Soccer National League Mid-Atlantic EDP Conference.

“The US Youth Soccer National League EDP program will give BRAUSA players the opportunity to advance to the most prestigious national league in the country,” said Aduato Neto, President of BRAUSA. “The US Youth Soccer National League is recognized as a top league that draws hundreds of college coaches to each of its events, and through our partnership with EDP we will ensure our players will be challenged and stretched to their full capabilities as player athletes.”

Neto added: “By playing in top level of regional and national competitions the exposure opportunities are boundless. Collectively, with the support of the National League EDP and the EDP Pathway to College initiative, our players will be afforded the opportunity to move onto the collegiate level of play and beyond.”

Matt Popoli, NY Surf president said: “EDP has given us the ideal platform for our club to grow and develop. With the expansion of EDP on Long Island, we will now be able to offer more ages and more levels of NY Surf teams the EDP experience. Exciting times for these two great organizations.”

According to Ian Dawson, West-Mont’s Director of Coaching: “This will provide our players with a platform to compete against top competition at every age group. The new model, developed by EDP, puts a focus on player development amongst like-minded clubs, and playing in United States Youth Soccer National League EDP will give our players the highest level of college exposure and offer them endless opportunities to pursue their goals of playing at the next level.”

EDP CEO Alan Shilling noted that EDP is “proud to welcome such top-level clubs as BRAUSA, NY Surf and West Mont to our new EDP platform that offers a great game every weekend, with a minimum of travel and excellent exposure to college coaches.”

EDP, one of the country’s largest leagues located on the east coast of the United States, announced in April that it had entered into a long-term agreement with US Youth Soccer to manage four National League conferences in the East Region starting in 2018-19 – the US Youth Soccer National League New England EDP Conference; the US Youth Soccer National League North Atlantic EDP Conference; the US Youth Soccer National League Mid Atlantic EDP Conference; and the US Youth Soccer National League South Atlantic EDP Conference.

Beginning in the Fall of 2018, these US Youth Soccer National League EDP Conferences will provide local/regional regular season league play, cup competition and regional/national showcase events, with top teams advancing directly into the US Youth Soccer National League and the Regional Championships in the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series (NCS). Club v. club and team v. team models will both be offered in the US Youth Soccer EDP Conferences.

EDP plans to host National League Regional Showcases in the local area so that its clubs can participate in nationally recognized events within a reasonable travel distance to help reduce travel costs. “We are in the planning stages of developing a world-class athletic complex in the Greater Philadelphia area and look forward to the opportunity to host even more of the US Youth Soccer competitions in the future,” said Shilling.
