U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team roster selected for October camp

CHICAGO – U.S. Men’s Beach Soccer National Team head coach Ian Carry has selected a 17-player roster for the team’s upcoming training camp to be held Oct. 15-19 in Oceanside, Calif.

As part of U.S. Soccer’s mission to develop winning teams, the camp marks an important step as the squad continues preparation for the 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship in March, which will serve as qualifying for next year’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles.

“Making a National Team roster is a huge honor and privilege and there is no denying that it was an extremely competitive process among the players which my staff and I evaluated over the past three months,” Carry said. “I am excited to work with the talented roster we have selected and look forward to forging a competitive, disciplined, energized group both on and off the sand as we prepare for a very busy World Cup year in 2025.”

The roster features 10 returnees from the squad that represented the USA at the 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup earlier this year in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with goalkeepers Austin Collier and Chris Toth, defenders Antonio Chavez and Nico Perea, midfielders Tanner Akol and Cody Valcarcel, and forwards Alessandro Canale, Andres Navas, Conner Rezende and Gabe Silveira all headed to camp in Oceanside.

The camp also marks the return of Beach MNT all-time leading goal scorer Nick Perera, who was originally part of the 2024 World Cup roster before having to withdraw due to injury just days before the start of the tournament. Perera will serve as a player/assistant coach to Carry and will be joined on the staff by former Beach MNT defender Ryan Futagaki who moves over as an assistant coach from the Beach WNT through the shortened World Cup cycle for the Beach MNT.

Most immediately the October camp will serve as preparation for the 2024 BSWW Acapulco Beach Soccer Cup to be held Dec. 9-16 in Acapulco, Mexico. The Beach MNT will then set its sights on World Cup qualification at the 2025 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship from March 10-16 in a location still to be determined.
