U.S. Soccer Foundation appoints Brian Weinstein to Board of Directors
Washington, D.C. (Via U.S. Soccer Foundation) – The U.S. Soccer Foundation today announced that Brian Weinstein, President and COO of Bad Robot, has been appointed to its Board of Directors. Mr. Weinstein joins a board of 24 other leaders and executives who are actively working to increase access to quality soccer programming and build safe places to play soccer, with a special emphasis on underserved communities.
“Brian brings a wealth of experience in the corporate, political and non-profit fields, which will be extremely beneficial to advancing the Foundation’s mission and reaching our ambitious growth goals,” said Charles Stimson, Chairman of the Board for the Foundation. “His experience working to empower youth from underserved communities coupled with his passion for soccer is a great addition to our team. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Board of Directors.”

Brian joined Bad Robot in June 2017. Bad Robot was formed by filmmaker J.J. Abrams in 2001. The company has produced television series such as Alias, Lost, Fringe, Person of Interest and Westworld, feature films such as Super 8, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the Star Trek, Mission: Impossible and Cloverfield franchises and interactive content including the mobile app Action Movie FX. Bad Robot’s first foray into publishing, S., a novel conceived by Abrams and written by Doug Dorst, was a New York Times Best Seller. Prior to joining Bad Robot, Mr. Weinstein spent 12 years at Creative Artists Agency. He originally served as Head of Corporate Finance at CAA before becoming Head of Global Client Strategy.
In addition to his corporate background, Brian has extensive political and non-profit experience. He is the founder and Chairman Emeritus of The Opportunity Network, an organization focused on empowering high-achieving, low-income youth.
Mr. Weinstein has a BA from Yale University and JD from Columbia Law School. He played collegiate soccer at Yale, and has been the proud coach of his children’s AYSO soccer teams.
