CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. U-15 Boys’ National Team drew with England 2-2 in Staffordshire in its first friendly of a 10-day training camp in England.

The U.S. found the back of the net early in the game, building on an attack through the middle. It all started with George Acosta, who knifed his way through and quickly switched it to Tim Weah on the right hand side of the box. From there Weah took a chance, firing at goal and though his shot was stopped by the England keeper, Adrian Villegas followed and finished on the rebound to put the U.S. up 1-0 in the fifth minute.

England was able to level in the final stretch of the first half when the U-15’s lost possession in the middle third and England countered with a tying goal.

In the second half, the U.S. again came out firing, with George Acosta scoring the team’s second goal on an assist from Tim Weah in the 43rd minute of the 80-minute match, though in the 70th, England responded with another tying score.

The BNT will get another shot against England when the two teams matchup again on Aug. 19.
