U.S. U-16 Boys National Team falls 3-0 to Russia, 2-0 to France
VAL DE MARNE, France (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Under-16 Boys’ National Team finished third out of four teams in the Val-de-Marne Tournament, after falling 3-0 to Russia and 2-0 to France.
The U-16s were coming off a strong 2-1 victory vs. England in their first matchup, but Russia proved to be a tough opponent to face in the U-16 BNT’s second fixture of the tournament. They found the back of the net early, taking a 1-0 lead in the 9th minute of the game. The USA was able to keep Russia’s attack at bay, but were not able to finish in the final third.
