U.S. U-16 Boys National Team roster named for tournament in France

CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – U.S. Under-16 Boys’ National Team head coach Shaun Tsakiris has named a 20-player roster that will participate in the Val-de-Marne Tournament set to kick off on Oct. 25 in Val de Marne, France.

The U-16 BNT will arrive in Val de Marne on Oct. 19 to allow a few days of training prior to their first match on Oct. 25 vs. England. The USA will then face Russia on Oct. 27 and wrap up the competition on Oct. 29 with a matchup against the host nation France.

Of the 20 players on the U.S. roster, 17 currently play with U.S. Soccer Development Academy Clubs, two play abroad, and only one remains unattached. In addition, every player on the roster was born in 2001.

This tournament comes on the heels of two domestic training camps in June and September for the U-16s, as well as a fifth place result at the 2016 Delle Nazioni Tournament back in May.
