CHICAGO (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team put on a goal scoring clinic in their 8-0 and 9-0 routs of Guatemala on Sept. 15 and 17 in Bradenton, Florida.

In the first match, the U.S. U-17’s got on the board early with three goals in the first ten minutes of play. William Sands, Ayomide Akinola and Josh Sargent found the net in the 4th, 6th, and 8th minute, respectively. Akinola delivered once again in the 21st minute and later assisted Sargent, who secured a brace, in the 37th minute.

Starting the second half with a 5-0 lead, the USA saw substitute Isaac Angking take over the match. Angking assisted Zyen Jones in the 55th minute and then took matters into his own hands with two goals in the 69th and 83rd minutes, sealing a crushing 8-0 victory for the U.S.

Akinola and Sargent took command of the game once again, contributing two goals and an assist a piece. Jones got a hat trick under his belt, scoring in the 18th, 39th, and 57th minutes.

Chris Durkin and Christopher Gloster both joined the party in the 55th and 82nd minute, respectively. Amidst the goal fests, goalkeepers Alex Budnik and Justin Garces secured a shutout in each game, adding to the two close-to-perfect nights for the U-17 MNT.

The U-17’s will now look ahead to a training camp that will feature two matches against Panama on Sept. 27 and Oct 1 in Panama City, Panama.
