U.S. U-18 MNT opens Copa Chivas with 1-0 win against Monarcas Morelia
GUADALAJARA, Mexico (Via U.S. Soccer) – The U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team scored an early goal and shut down Monarcas Morelia 1-0 to open Group A play at the 2015 Copa Chivas at Verde Velle.
Mauricio Pineda scored the USA’s lone goal in the sixth minute, off of a free kick rebound. Goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann made a save and the U.S. defense maintained the clean sheet.
The U-18 MNT next faces Cruzeiro Esporte Clube on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. ET. Copa Chivas matches are shown live on chivasdecorazon.com.mx.
