U.S. U-19 Men’s Youth National Team falls to Morocco 1-0 in friendly

RABAT, Morocco – The U.S. U-19 Men’s Youth National Team fell 1-0 to Morocco at the Mohammed VI Football Complex to finish the March international window. The Atlas Lions’ Rachad Fettal tallied the game’s lone goal in the 37th minute.

Once again, all 21 field players called into camp logged minutes plus goalkeeper Julian Eyestone. The U.S. goalkeepers and defense did well to keep the game at 1-0 down the stretch, but the USA wasn’t able to find a breakthrough to equalize.

The U-19 MYNT will return to action during the June international window as preparations continue for this summer’s Concacaf U-20 Championship, set for July 18-Aug. 4 in Guanajuato, Mexico. Morocco will seek its fourth FIFA U-20 World Cup appearance at next year’s 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship is open to players born on or after Jan. 1, 2005. Head coach Michael Nsien will lead the 2005-birth year U-19 MYNT during its preparations for and during the Concacaf Championship this summer. Nsien selected 11 players born in 2005, 12 born in 2006 and one born in 2007, with Philadelphia Union defender Neil Pierre the youngest on the roster.
