U.S. U-19 Men’s Youth National Team heading to Spain for pair of friendlies
CHICAGO – U.S. Under-19 Men’s Youth National Team head coach Marko Mitrović has called 20 players to Marbella, Spain for a pair of friendlies against England and Norway.
The team will gather from May 31-June 10, facing England on June 6 and Norway on June 9. Both matches will be played at 12 p.m. ET at the Marbella Football Center’s Dama de Noche pitches.
Players born on or after Jan. 1, 2004 are age-eligible for the 2022-23 U-19 MYNT cycle. Six players called into the camp were born in 2004 and 14 were born in 2005.

All 20 players called to Spain are age-eligible for this summer’s 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras, which serves as qualification for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics. The players born in 2005 are also age-eligible for the 2024-25 U-20 World Cup cycle.
Fourteen players return from the U-19 MYNT’s April training camp, while six are receiving their first U-19 call-up: Juan Castilla, Kristian Fletcher, Kobi Henry, Thomas Williams, Owen Wolff and Marcos Zambrano.
One player is based abroad – Atletico Madrid forward Rodrigo Neri – while the 18 domestic-based players come from 14 different teams, including 11 in Major League Soccer. Three each come from the Houston Dynamo and Orlando City SC. Eleven states are represented on the roster, led by five players from Florida.
